SIXTH RACE

-

She probably wasn’t beating much during that 3-race win streak at Gulf West, but it’s difficult not to be impressed with the way the day’s best, TONI ANN’S MIRACLE, has come to hand for Monarch and Pilotti; conceivably could’ve found a tougher spot when shipping across the peninsula for this hundred-grander, but nope, she’s clearly the one to beat when prominent from the opening bell; another live one for Jaramillo. ALMOND ROCA stands to benefit from the abundance of opposing speed when making her first start outside of Anne Arundel County; will take early rating from Morales prior to bidding in. R TRUE TALENT is a maiden in a stakes but nonetheless merits consideration as top connex equip her with blinkers.

SEVENTH RACE

Not sure how meaningful a bullet work is at Fairhill, but BENEVOLENTDICTATOR brings a few of them to the Gulf Coast after months of morning education up north for Graham Motion and his staff; this son of the great Giant’s Causeway is one of a handful of promising youngsters convening in this waywide-open MSW turf mile. Similarly, ANGELINO debuts for Calumet and Clement with a deep set of works; rail draw and Jaramillo add to an immediate allure. SHILOH LANE adds blinkers after failing to be a factor in a race won by budding superstar Analyze It; won’t escape notice as Gallardo climbs aboard.

EIGHTH RACE

The Delacour barn sure seems to have ‘em surrounded in this first-level turf allowance. The homebred half-sister to the great Barbaro, MADAME MILAN, is the most likely winner amid the trainer’s uncoupled pair after prevailing at odds-on in her 2nd start at Laurel in October .... but if not her, there’s HELENA THE FIRST at the ready; she, too, was a sharp last-out maiden winner in Maryland; both fillies show plenty of prep in the interim. CROWN AND SUGAR is a threetime winner making her grass debut.

NINTH RACE

WILDCAT’S LEGACY proved far superior in two prelims vs. Fla-breds but now tries open company when getting tested in this intriguing renewal of the Inaugural Stakes, with top jock Gallardo accepting the call from Ralph; let’s see what ya got, dude. TRICKS TO DOO was a 1-10 winner for Delacour at Laurel when exiting an exceptionally tough maiden race at Keeneland; his low-80s Beyers from both of those strongly suggest he’s the one to beat when facing winners for the first time. The Donamire homebred TWIN FARMS can be forgiven for his latest.

TENTH RACE

Alllll kinds of options for this Saturday finale, but we’ll give CLEARWATER the best chance, assuming improvement over a disappointing Keeneland effort in her dirt debut; gray gal flashed sufficient potential in Erie; tricky rail post to overcome. HISTORY MADE finally comes unveiled by Delacour after months of prep up north, capped by a couple of local tighteners; sure to draw her share of window action. NORTHERN WIND has the credentials to make her presence felt at first asking in a deep nightcapper that also drew RATTLESNAKEROSE, PROSPECTIVE LADY, CHARLOTTE DE BERRY and GLITTERATI GAL as viable possibilities.
