BEST BET: RACE 2, ENTANGLED

FIRST RACE

TENACITY ZIP comes in stakes placed at Woodbine on poly and gelded since last start in early September. Looked razor sharp flying from the gate here earlier this month. Son of City Zip should handle the turf. MCERIN and EL DULCE both raced forwardly placed in Juvenile Turf Sprint on B Cup undercard dominated in the end by trio of Europeans. Not facing that caliber today.

SECOND RACE

ENTANGLED, the day’s best, drops to more sjuitable spot while returning to dirt and his favorite strip. First time gelding need only trip out from the rail to get back on winning track at this level. HELIODORO has been freshened a bit since decent N Y finale and while stuck in this category a long time might fit nicely with this bunch. Held own working with graded stakes placed Giuseppe the Great on 12/2. PROMETE earned huge marks winning his N2L condition in G P W finale, just a matter of whether he can get loose, repeat effort on hike to next level.

THIRD RACE

MOCKERY second best behind B Cup Juvenile Fillies winner Caledonia Road at Saratoga, got used up in extended speed duel stretching to a mile last time. Looks like controlling speed here unless one of the new faces shows some gas. BARRIER ISLAND dons shades while sitting on best yet making third start of form cycle. Has been hung wide in both previous tries. AUGUST SNOW did not run to breeding or sales price tag after walking out of the gate debuting at KEeneland. Continues to work well, deserves another chance at what figures to be a square price off dull bow.

FOURTH RACE

BYZANTINE GOLD lightly raced in a field full of proven losers and with enough speed to be on or with pace throughout. Not badly beaten behind in form Nile Prince in turf bow at Meadowlands. SMARTER has failed to hit the board in all seven previous starts but gets in with weakest bunch yet. Should improve. COUSIN TINO best of these on Figs but an 0 for 20 maiden who might be along for minor share again.

FIFTH RACE

VINTNERS SPECIAL has shown speed with addition of blinkers, might be sitting on winning try return to conditioned claiming company and a track over which she’s shown her best stuff in the past. MAMACHITA was taken too far back, left with far too much to do last time behind odds on, class dropping winner. Beyers heading the wrong way but she’s better than last pair with the right trip. WIGGLE IT JIGGLEIT in new hands since last, figures forwardly placed throughout.

SIXTH RACE

K K’S REVOLVER back on short rest after narrowly beaten by class dropping winner(down from $25K) 11 days earlier, the effort flattered when third finisher Clemson and Watson returned to graduate this week with a 46 Beyer, a number more than good enough to beat this slow bunch. FALCONER takes big plunge after opening career at the MSW level, demands much respect vs. bottom level maidens. EPIC WAR has shown speed in the a.m.

but yet to work over 3/8’s so fitness could be an issue. Debuts on Lasix. Must respect here.

SEVENTH RACE

ANIMAL TRICK the speed of speed in this wide open spot. Was beaten a head by Buddy’s Tiz in N J finale, the latter likely to be odds on off his form against this group. STRIKE MIDNIGHT the logical choice on the drop returning locally from N Y but a beaten favorite in three of his last four starts. Cannot ignore but perhaps vulnerable as the public’s choice again. THORISTIC a consistent sort on the board in each of his last six starts. Can take a minor share again.

EIGHTH RACE

BLIND POOL switches to turf off much needed outing last month at Big A. Speedster held own working with G1 placed Lewis Bay over PM main on 12/4. Should be too fast for these if taking to the course. BOOM BOOM BOOM ran big second despite trouble behind now stakes placed Vigor in her bow before disappointing some stretching out for second try. Should come running late if able to secure clean run from fence.PAROL no match for Rudy Rodriguez winner in N Y finale, another who should come running at the end.

NINTH RACE

SOCIAL ROY hard to fault in present form, might take another if aggressively handled to clear off from the rail. CALL TO HONOR the big question mark here off the layoff and on big class drop. Was hustled hard to show big speed from gate last weekend. AUSABLE could not quite get to preferred choice in crosstown finale but eligible to reverse the setback if top pair extended each other on the front end

TENTH RACE

MOONWALKER second best after showing big speed last out at GPW behind SP 3yo Apache Brave, looks like he should get loose once again coming up tagged to be eligible in today’s main event. Might forget to stop over this course. SUCCESSFUL NATIVE hinted he’s back on top of game after turning in near career best dirt Beyer in crosstown finale. Back to preferred surface today. PLATINUM PRINCE has tailed off a bit of late but seems to like this course best of all, might wake up some returning to south Fla.

ELEVENTH RACE

BEE BALM broke slow, did not get the best of trips while showing promise debuting at six furlongs and should relish the stretch around two turns and perhaps more important the addition of Lasix. Shaky edge in wide open finale. JASMINE’S GEM overcame trouble launching career for high tag, earned high marks in recent turf work at PM . Might just handle the hike to this level with one under her belt. MORELIKELYTHANNOT by Scat Daddy from potent barn, seems to be training forwardly for bow but must overcome difficult post at what figures to be a relatively short price.
