GULFSTREAM

-

ers, Lasix and a switch to the turf. Bred to handle the going and should offer some value in this very puzzling looking contest. THE PRESIDENCY is the best bred of the bunch being a full to G1 winner Declaration of War and multiple G3 winner War Correspondent. Has not run to his breeding just yet but with two under the best, could be ready for best yet today. The same holds for FUNNY

DUCK who comes off best yet in CD finale and with enough breeding to suggest there is more upside coming on the grass.

SEVENTH RACE

FAST BOAT ran to his backing and then some the second time around and looks like he’s certainly stakes caliber on the sod. Taken to handle the hike if able to work out a trip in here. PONY UP circled wide, finished willingly stepping up to stakes company for the first time in local turf bow, expecting even better with hopefully a clean run today. SPEED FRANCO super impressive when loose much of the way stepping right into stakes company with a big win on 12/9 and obviously a big danger if getting his own way on front end again.

EIGHTH RACE

LIFE’S A PARLAY another Pletcher trained son of Uncle Mo who appears to have some ability and also bred to be a good one being a 1/2 to G1 winner Declassify. Appears to be working forwardly for his bow. ORBED hard to ignore having run even fourth in debut. Must respect the experience edge in this spot. APOSTLE scratched out of a similar race several weeks ago but a well bred sort who is working like a good one in advance of his debut.

NINTH RACE

THE WAYIAM back to an easier spot after being a bit overmatched vs. G3 types at Del Mar. Defeated Malibu Saint in U S bow, the latter flattering the effort winning overnight stakes here four weeks earlier. Gets slight edge in a race where trip likely the key. ANDINA DEL SUR won impressively at first asking for a barn that doesn’t usually have one that cranked up off the bench which bodes well for an even better effort today. Beat a field that did produce three next out graduates to boot. Could surprise despite the hike right to stakes level. MALIBU SAINT circled field, got up in time despite being banged around late to win the Wait A While and obviously a talented sort. Must not regress returning in four weeks off such a grueling effort.

TENTH RACE

DAK ATTACK, the day’s best, perfect in two starts, already a stakes winner and couldn’t be training better for 3yo bow. Appears to be sitting on another huge effort today. MASK overcame tough trip to win his debut impressively, the performance flattered when well backed runner-up returned to win by himself at next asking. Training well for his return. One to fear. BAL HARBOUR a two time stakes winner both at this distance but may be facing much tougher than he defeated on either occasion.

ELEVENTH RACE

OX BRO showed little debuting against good bunch of MSW rivals on the dirt at Keeneland now takes big plunge for turf brow and should handle the surface being a half to SW grass runner Susie Bee. Taken to wake up with these. GOING TO THE BEACH and CROWN TO THE GOLD the logical pair exiting good efforts vs similar to close out their 2yo campaigns.
