BEST BET: RACE 2, LET ME FLATTER YOU

FIRST RACE

NILEATOR chased red hot One Go All Go, came up wanting a bit through the stretch, the latter flattering the effort returning to run 2nd in the Ft. Laud. (G2) and posting a 100 Beyer in the process. Turn back a furlong could help the cause as should the presence of red hot Irad O in saddle. WEEKEND EXPRESS outfinished preferred choice in their previous meeting and dons shades for the rematch although still seeking first win at this distance. SOMEKINDOFMAGICIAN continues to hold his form extremely well. Returns to allowance company off a couple of good stakes showings.

SECOND RACE

LET ME FLATTER YOU shortens up for local bow, perhaps what the doctor ordered after hanging late in all longer efforts out west. Exits key race that produced pair of next out grads including runner-up who won off by 5 lengths and Beyered 62 in her next start. LITTLE FLORENTINA wound up in a pace duel with ultimate winner who got bet hard and freaked with career best effort under similar conditions on 12/23. Does not appear to be facing that kind today. Might get brave if able to shake loose, relax on the lead with veteran pilot taking the reins. BIONSAND has been absent a while but got good grades for recent turf drill, seems to have done enough in the a.m. to be fit and ready for her return.

THIRD RACE

CAUGHT obviously a question mark on the prolonged absence and big drop in class but recent work tab has been okay and like the fact barn reaches out for hot jock. Taken to assert class edge here. DREAM TRIP another getting some class relief of his own while donning shades for the occasion. Best makes him one to fear. WANNABEAPLAYER a hanging sort and a beaten favorite in last two tries vs. similar but in dangerous hands off the claim.

FOURTH RACE

Distance the question for most of these as is the pace scenario with a field loaded with front running types. RICHARD THE GREAT improved quite a bit in his second lifetime start around two turns in the Harlan’s Holiday and another forward move might be all it takes to land him in the winner’s circle despite the stretch to nine furlongs. Addition of blinkers should help the cause. MR. JORDAN the class of the field but a question mark of sorts at nine furlongs and having to rally from off the pace today. Did run second in this race albeit while loose on the lead in ‘16.JAY’S WAY couldn’t have been gamer winning his last after getting hung wide throughout trying nine furlongs for the only time in the Claiming Crown. Might just be a question of how much that last effort emptied the tank. Catholic Cowboy proven at the distance and capable of running down horses at the end but now 8 and his current form is suspect. Still worth tossing in the numbers at a price.

FIFTH RACE

HARLAN’S HUNCH run down late by 7/5 Carbon Data in latest and might not be facing that kind today. Loses Irad to Servis but picking up Javier in the

process. Might not look back today. DEVISE comes off an improved showing returning locally and the added distance could be a plus. Might be the best late threat if able to work out clean trip from inside.

PASSPORT TO CHAOS lured Irad off the preferred choice and has been a consistent sort at this level for some time although without a win on the resume since graduation day one year ago.

SIXTH RACE

PURE QUALITY broke poorly, never threatened when launching career on the sod but has shown some main track promise since shipping to PM and has the look of a sleeper on drop for this tag. MIRACLE HILL in dangerous hands for his bow although hard to gauge from limited recent work tab. Will keep close on tote board for further hints. TOOTHPIC back to more suitable level after catching a monster in local bow. Previous try at Churchill points him out a logical player here. Royalty Salvatore turned in promising bow after setting pressured pace, could get loose, prove dangerous shortening to six furlongs.

SEVENTH RACE

GALLEON MAST and ENTERPRISING renew acquaintances after running second and first respectively in Sunshine Millions Turf Preview a couple of months earlier at GPW. The former struck the lead after circling 5 wide into the stretch, could not hold off the favorite that day but now gets the same nemesis back on his home grounds, might just reverse the decision with the right trip. Enterprising logical of course but stretch running sort may need some help with the pace, namely speedy Charlie Mops, which could be the reason his mate Swagger Jagger along for the ride today. OUR WAY the defending champ in this event after edging out Enterprising a year ago, but a question of fitness returning off just one start since April 29.

EIGHTH RACE

HERE’S TO MIKE cycling back to good form and may have faced a touch better when a beaten favorite at same level last time. Taken to make amends with a trip from the rail. RACINGS MY GAME set ridiculous pace, paid the price while overmatched here a month ago, drops to more suitable spot, gets more experienced rider, one to catch with some judicious rating today. MCILROY adds blinkers, drops while returning to a track he’s handled well in the past. Must work out a trip from tough post at the distance.

NINTH RACE

NOBLE DRAMA one of several new faces in this one to have shown promise in the a.m. Dam won the Susan’s Girl division of the Fla. Sire Series during her career, might not look back if away running from outside post. DEXTER has held own in the a.m. with some older, more experienced foes and barn can surely have one ready to win off the bench. Kin to G3 winner Prudhoe Bay. LENNOX showed some speed from the gate in most recent work, could fit here. Moon Pistol began career on grass, was victimized by an unlucky trip, now returns to the main off improved work and likely better than that first effort indicates. Dam was G1 placed and a multiple graded SW on dirt during her career.

TENTH RACE

STARSHIP JUBILEE a bit of a disappointment here in the Tiara after shaking well clear in early stretch but looked sharp in subsequent works, gets another chance returning with state breds for the first time since easy allowance/optional claiming win over this course last winter. DADDY’S BOO a win machine throughout her career who finally gets a shot at state breds but idle now three months off poor showing in the Dowager. Still the one to fear if loose as expected up top. GRACEFUL HEART wheels back on short rest off career best showing earlier this month with open company. Can come running again for a share.

ELEVENTH RACE

Hard to look past X Y JET who probably was less than 100 per cent prepared for the Mr. Prospector and likely to move forward off the effort. Tough to catch if able to get away clean from rail. MO CASH continues to hold his form well, returns to home course and along with QUIJOTE perhaps the two main upset threats.

TWELFTH RACE

STAY ON BASE showed promise in his debut, chased very fast pace at second asking now drops to the bottom for third start of form cycle. Ready to graduate for this tag. NEW ATLAS a beaten favorite vs. similar in his last but did come running late off an honest pace and with some back numbers that would be good enough to beat these. Likely to be over bet with Irad taking the call. AMERICA’S SIMMARD turned in credible effort vs. stronger in 2yo finale, likely to be in thick of it throughout in this spot.
