BEST BET: RACE 4, CALORIC

FIRST RACE

PROMETE never better, steps up off the claim but capable of getting back on winning track turning back to 7/8’s off anything shown of late. One to catch.SHIP DISTURBER’s last being tossed due to a compromising trip, previous pair point him out a contender in this spot at a distance he’s handled nicely in the past. CRAZY FRANK C a bit of a hanging sort but hard to league out of the mix.

SECOND RACE

PUT EM UP a game maiden winner in his last, not facing much better on the hike vs. winner’s being spotted for this tag. Can take another. SHOT JAK made a premature run to lead, faltered late vs. same kind two weeks earlier, must respect with a bit more patient handling. MORENO MOJO checked near the top of the stretch, switch leads late while not badly beaten vs. same kind on 1/21. Merits another chance from outside.

THIRD RACE

WAVE ON WAVE dons shades, getting some class relief for third start of his career, could be sitting on best yet. MR. SULTANA also gets a hood after hanging some late when dropped to this level for 4yo bow. PRIVATE BELLAMY on the improve but has lost ground from the top of stretch to wire in all previous starts.

FOURTH RACE

CALORIC the day’s best well spotted off the claim for high percentage barn after cruising to easy maiden win on the drop to Pletcher barn. Right back with these. JAI BLUE strictly the one to fear after beating up on pretty similar in each of his last two starts. Inside draw could give him bit of an edge on preferred choice. MONEY BROKER totally overmatched in well graded Hard Way Winner dash stepping out of maiden ranks on New Years Day, expecting better with this bunch.

FIFTH RACE

MIRACULOUSLY has shown improvement since shipping locally now dropping to more suitable spot for this tag and like the fact Irad takes the call for first time. RATE OF RETURN may have actually lured Leparoux off preferred choice and another moving in right direction. Worked well over P M sod since last for new trainer. MISS ALIPHANT turned in sparkling turf bow with addition of blinkers, figures to improve off the effort. One to catch again perhaps if away clean from inside.

SIXTH RACE

CARBON DATA turned in big effort on graduation day while equipped with blinkers for the first time and after having been gelded before that start. Right back on drop to today’s level. ZEFIRO’s last a complete toss after getting squeezed and roughed badly at the break. Previous pair point him out a key contender taking plunge for this tag. ON CRUISE CONTROL matched career best Beyer finishing with good energy despite eventful trip last time. Hard to leave out of the equation with clean sailing.

SEVENTH RACE

FONTANAZZA broke slow, raced wide, put in a nice middle move to reach close contention into stretch before fading late in what figures to be a much needed bow. Javier stays and with a decent work under her belt on PM main for this. BATTLE FLAG also broke a step or two slow, rallied wildest, out kicked preferred choice to the wire while well backed for U.S. bow and another who should benefit from the outing. PAROL knocking on door with this kind but a bit of a hanging sort who might again prove vulnerable from a win standpoint at another short price.
