BEST BET: RACE 1, CYCLOTRICK

FIRST RACE

CYCLOTRICK didn’t do much in her debut but she got what she needed and that was race experience. We like that connections waste little time finding her a route of ground. Three of five sibs are multiple route winners. Class drop and First Lasix go nicely. SIN FRONTERAS gets in light and has some speed on the stretch-out. She has only one way to go in this race, right? WEST PRINCESS has some nice figs and drops to the bottom. She will attract all the mutuel attention. AYANA is by a 10% debut sire. Her dam went 13-2-0-1 for 26K (1 for 4 routing). This is her first foal.

SECOND RACE

HOW ABOUT HIM is feeling good and actually drops in class. With this race, he will be eligible for starter races down the road. His Beyers are best and he might even own a pace advantage. Hello chalkville population you. SMALL TOWN SHUFFLE has found a new style and that is passing runners. We like it when horses do something different. Too bad this feel good runner doesn’t get much pace to chase. LOTA SPUNK is a stone cold kicker and that hurts in this race. The quick turnaround is a 28% move for this barn though. A bit surprised that his recent turf try wasn’t better as this 9YO has run well on that surface before.

THIRD RACE

DOCS LEGACY is a real wild card. First and foremost there is no speed in this race. Could we see an effort like that one 6 back when this gelding was up close and personal? Class slide is alarming but we’ll make a case that this guy wants nothing to do with the dirt. He does have a local work and lures a veteran jockey in Stevens. WILLING TO TRAVEL turns around quickly and is a Kruljac re-claim and he probably knows this horse best. This horse sure does get bet a lot. TRIBAL MONEY is one of many that is feeling good. He is another that wants nothing to do with the front end.

FOURTH RACE

BRING ON THE BLING might have needed her return try but then didn’t get a good trip anyway. We think connections are using that try to drop in class and steal a purse. It is nice to see Stevens stay put. Recent work is very encouraging. NANG NOI ran well three back versus first time winners. An even try two back and then a poor start last out. Her grinding style might work best at today’s elongated sprint distance. FREE LILLY might be the value. Let’s say she needer her return try while most recent was on a good track. She did get a 53 Beyer when she broke her maiden last year.

FIFTH RACE

TREVOR’S CALL goes second time this dirt and has never run a poor one in three starts to date. Race flow is actually a plus. He has worked twice since his most recent. The one to beat for sure. PAR PLAY ran well in two of three starts out East. He did get some play in his debut at Mountaineer. SON OF A ROYAL is the fresh face from Cally. Return try was poor but the layoff was long. It is interesting that connections find a spot where they can’t lose their charge via a claim. TRUEST CAT is by a 0 for 9 debut sire. His dam went 4-0-0-0. Lone sib is 2-0-0-0. R T SHADOW is by a 5% debut sire. His dam was un-raced. Lone sib is 8-0-0-0.

SIXTH RACE

FIRE THE TRAINER is a very consistent runner. Recent work bodes well and we think this horse will like today’s extra half furlong. Race flow is fine while rail draw a small knock. BLUE LAW has some speed and draws the attack post. This barn is 23% with their claimers. ZIPTIME might be the best speed but it won’t be easy. He seems capable at this distance though.

SEVENTH RACE

HAWKEYE GOLD is rounding into shape. We don’t see this barn claim very many so that is a plus. Recent work is a nice touch and Stevens keeps the call. Tactical speed to help with this inside post and you might get 5-1 on this runner (10-1 morning line). DONTPREACHTO DARCY is a hard trier that gets away from the rail and wants to pass runners. His Beyer top did come on this dirt and he goes second time with Hernandez. ROYAL

PRIVACY somehow got into trouble last out. Nice figs from 2 and 3 back. New barn is 2 for 6 off the claim.

EIGHTH RACE

SEA CODE just loves it here. She has some speed but can pass runners if needed. We like her outside post. Upside is best. TRIPLE TEN is just a solid runner that ran a Beyer top only two back. We think the winner from her last race is better than most for the level. POWER OF THIRTEEN has some back class. Maybe she moved a tad early last out but she was the chalk. Full furlong cut back guarantees a late run. LIL LOTTIE is in our supers.
