ANALYSIS

FIRST RACE

ELECTRO beat 5 of 7 MSW rivals in NY finale, was over matched in two local tries, drops right to the bottom for high percentage barn. Figures forwardly placed throughout from the rail. Will likely have to fend off PANAMA PAPERS, a consistent sort from a Beyer standpoint but still winless after a dozen tries vs. better. Suffered through rough trip after taking up at the start last time. Barn having super meet with class droopping maidens this winter. . SIGNATURE TWIRL chased preferred one home on 2/1 after a perfect ground saving grip. Adds blinkers, loses Tyler to the preferred choice.

SECOND RACE

KING POWER an improving sort who just failed to last vs. same kind earlier this month when nailed late by Indian Scout, who ran far and away a career best Beyer to spring the upset. Taken to hold on today if able to relax long enough on the front end. HANGRY defeated preferred choice going a two turn mile at GPW, perhaps not as well suited to this strip but likely the major beneficiary if the top one gets pressed and falters late. SALUTATION back to the main for a rare appearance but has won on dirt in the past and might class up pretty well in this spot.

THIRD RACE

PLEIN AIR, the day’s best, has caught a couple of good ones in last pair and knocking on the door at this time. Was second best behind in form Farcial Feline last month, the latter beating $50K starter company earlier this week. Circled wide while clearly second best behind 9/5 Prado Vision last time. Should be along with a clean run from the rail under Saez. . SAMURAI’S FIRSTLADY in dangerous hands off the claim a nd well spotted for this tag after defeating next out maiden $20K winner Barbados Kitten on 1/15. Must avoid potential early duel with several other speed types in this lineup. GRACE’S DRAMA gets ample class relief plunging for this tag and capable of running down horses at the end. Should benefit from last, her first start since early May.

FOURTH RACE

Putting a line through BINGO KITTEN’s last when taken well back off a very slow pace, kept wide throughout. Five time winner held own with much better both in Ky. and earlier in this meet when second best behind Special Ops, beating next out stakes winner Durocer in the Claming Crown. MATANZAS INLET exploded to career best number beating state bred allowance company including Salute the Colonel, who validated

the effort beating same kind with 87 Beyer in his next start. LITTLE BALTAR holding form well, could return quick dividends off the claim at his best. Ran well despite slow start, wide trip last time.

FIFTH RACE

Y’ALL sheds shades, drops, should graduate today unless one of the new faces can run. SENZA TE lost best chance when knocked around at the break debuting for twice this tag last summer at the Spa. Deserves another chance with this kind. QUICKLUCKYCOCO adds blinkers, looks like the controlling speed, has had many chances but could get brave if loose here.

SIXTH RACE

BARBAROSSA much the best last time but for an unlucky trip and should be legged up to make big lake run from off all the speed in this lineup that includes stablemate Salmanazar. WILDCAT’S LEGACY another who should be coming on at the end if able to handle the turf as he should being by Wildcat Heir and a half to stakes placed Red Minx. Looked good blowing out for this. SALMANAZAR turned in promising turf work at PBD in final preparation for 3yo bow, might prove speed of the speed if away running from the fence. CLOUDED JUDGEMENT looked okay in recent turf drill, could come running for a share at a square price off the bench.

SEVENTH RACE

PACHANGA PARTY stretches back to six furlongs, a distance he can surely handle, especially if able to shake loose early as expected in this lineup. Gets the nod over logical choice STARSHIP APOLLO who continues to prove popular item at the claim box but off the board in each of his last two starts at this level. LIL’S FAST BOY in sharp hands off the claim, once classier sort capable of waking up at a decent price for new connections.

EIGHTH RACE

FLIRTY another Pletcher class plunger who should be able to carry her inherent class to victory with this slow group. SOMEWHAT-OPTIMISTIC narrowly beaten after extended pace duel by a pair of next out winners. Strictly one to fear. SECOND ILLUSION broke slow from the rail, still beat 9 of 11 foes debuting vs. similar. Goes to the other extreme drawing on far outside for second try.

NINTH RACE

MEGEVE had little chance after getting hung wide for very difficult post when facing same kind last month but now well drawn inside, taken to make amends with repeat of that 1/6 effort. RAY’S THE BAR a popular winner against N3L’s last time, might return quick dividends despite stepping up with open company today. Ran big race vs. open $25K foes in N Y finale.

OUSBY off the board but once in nine starts at this distance, hard to leave out of the equationf for at least a share.

TENTH RACE

Lots of new faces to sort out in this mystery of a race. Will try ARK IN THE DARK who seems to have plenty of gas from the looks of those a.m.trials. Will h ave to leave running if he’s to have legit shot from extreme outside post. KING ZACHARY ran well in his debut last fall at CD behind well regarded winner and despite a bit of a tardy start. Working well enough to prove formidible with the experience edge over many of the likely contenders. CANDYGRAM another who has shown promise in the a.m. and barn can have one ready at first asking. The same obviously true for $1 million 2yo purchase Ruler of the Nile who exits a steady diet of works for Pletcher at PBD.

ELEVENTH RACnEd

ZEFIRO had a strange trip last time when dropped in for this tag for the first time and stays put off the claim for new connections. Winner here if able to just repeat that big second place effort behind Baltic Art on 12/14. UNCLE B sheds shades while having been gelded since being haltered by present connection earlier in the meet. Extended Thoristic to a close neck decision for same tag two back. G Q COVERUP the victim of horrific trips in each of his last two sprint outings. Stretches out, figures forwardly placed from the outset and at a square price today.

TWELFTH RACE

ECONOMIC MODEL probably at his best going a mile, appears to be working forwardly for return while in company in recent weeks with Juvenile champ Good Magic. Well drawn inside, should trip out nicely behind the speed for Irad. IRISH WAR CRY ran one monster race, one clunker here last winter but work tab indicates he’s sitting on another big effort off the bench although this will be his first try against older horses. CONQUEST BIG E ran the best race of his career in defeat in the Hooper, falling less than a length short despite horrific trip. Lures Saez, might just try to play catch me if you can if away running today.

THIRTEENTH RACE

THE GREEN MO’STER appeared to really wake up after that last start if that 2/11 work any indication and he is by Uncle Mo so handling the grass figures no obstacle. Gets tepid nod in hard to gauge lineup

in the finale. SNAP HOOK getting good marks in the a.m. and a half to G3 turf winner Five Iron. DETERMINANT didn’t run badly in his only previous start, subsequent works indicate improvement to be expected. Rhode Island a question mark shipping down from Payson but bred for the going by Giant’s Causeway and a half to inner stakes winner Dream Awhile.
