BEST BET: RACE 2, X Y RUNNER

FIRST RACE

STARSHIP WILDCAT tries state breds for the first time, re-unites with Jaramillo, as good as any here at his best. SWAGGER also goes again Fla. breds for first time in recent meemory, lures Ortiz, ran well from impossible post first off the claim for current connections. OUR INDEPENDENCE beat a pretty decent group under similar conditions, a field that included also-ran Padilla, when haltered for this tag last month. Logical with repeat effort from hedge.

SECOND RACE

X Y RUNNER, the day’s best, nicely spotted off relatively well graded maiden win. Has been gelded since the outing, should have little trouble staying the mile especially if loose early with these. LITTLE SKY second best vs. same kind last time albeit with a perfect pace set-up. Should be coming on late once again. NOT CHOPPED LIVER goes back to the dirt off steady recent diet of turf racing, could prove upset threat if around clean from rail.

THIRD RACE

LOVE NEST has shown some speed in the a.m. since arriving locally from Turfway Park. Certainly has logged enough miles in the a.m. to be fit at first asking. Could get brave if able to clear off early. APATOW returns to the main off good inner course showing when beating 8 of 11 MSW foes on 2/3, strictly one to beat coming up tagged for barn having major success with similar class droppers this session. PEACE ACCORD exits best yet but stuck in second fear at the present time. Hard not to consider for one of minor awards.

FOURTH RACE

Strictly a pace and price play here with ONE FINE RIDE who exits improved a.m. showing and looks easily clear on the lead with this group. Might get brave at big balloons if allowed to relax long enough up front. THREE STAR STONE and GREGORY SUN over-matched vs. much tougher last time, look like the main threats on drop to this level.

FIFTH RACE

FAST MAMA took a run at the leaders with a 3 wide middle move, flattened out late vs. $50K foes returning locally early in the meet now drops to bottom and off ridiculously fast :59 and change work up at Payson on 2/10. Has for sale sign out but still should be too good in this spot. MY SWEET LORRAINE also getting major class relief making second start off extended vacation. Figures forwardly placed throughout. RUN BLONDIE RUN a beaten favorite in three of last four tries. Checked at top of stretch, lost momentum but flattened late once cleare in latest venture. Re-unites with Johnny V. Hard to ignore.

SIXTH RACE

LUCKBE TANYA rallied off slow pace to finish third last time and in sharp hands off the claim. Fits nicely under the conditions here. ZEVEN chased, weakened late behind pair of next out winners making first start locally but must avoid early duel with Catsadiva. LAMONTAGNE had absolutely no excuse in recent try at Tampa following several well graded outings in N.Y. Numbers say tailing off at this time, perhaps vulnerable at a short price in local bow.

SEVENTH RACE

TROPICALITY comes up tagged for the first time off good effort behind next out, N1X allowance winner Souper Striking. Gets tepid nod in extremely wide open maiden seller. MIRACULOUSLY victimized by a brutal trip when favored on drop to this level last time. Irad returns. Deserves another chance with cleaner sailing off a couple of decent showings vs. much better earlier in the session. RATE OF

RETURN just miss off a pretty good trip vs. same kind 3 weeks earlier but might not see the lead as readily today. LIL BAY CORVETTE exits far and away her best yet on graduation day and might be good enough now to win right back despite the jump in company. FORTY KILOS lost best chance when off poorly from the fence now dons blinkers for drop to cheapest level yet. May prove one to catch with a cleaner beginning. INTACTUS drops and one of only two multiple winners in the field along with Forty K.

NINTH RACE

SOUND DEFENCE finished fourth but only a halflength or so shy of second behind runaway winner after setting pace vs. same kind last out, the race flattered when third finisher Quality Time returned off troubled trip to clearly beat same caliber next time. Looks quickest from inside again today. APRIL ROSE outfinished preferred choice for second money in their previous meeting and has beaten this kind before. Should chase from outside once again. UNBRIDLED COURAGE broke a step slow, recovered to come running late behind Quality Time in latest, could prove prime beneficiary if this one ties up late.

TENTH RACE

LITTLE IRISHDANCER cycling back to peak form, should be good enough to handle the step to N3L company with repeat of last. DOINTHEWATUSI holding form well of late but must avoid early duel with first time turfer PARTY TARDE and Hold That Kitten.
