BEST BET: RACE 8, SURF SHACK

FIRST RACE

Lots of ways to go in opener. Choosing GRAYCIEZ SPIRIT off the claim and a couple of nice wins vs. cheaper. Can win on and off pace. HUG A TREE in dangerous hands off the claim. Missed less than a length to CORDELE in pair’s previous encounter despite getting hung widest of the pair on the turn.

SECOND RACE

WAVE ON WAVE continues to improve, turns back off good try at seven panels, ready to graduate with similar effort. PRIVATE BELLAMY no match for winner while easily second best in last. Kind of knocking on door at this level. AS IT HAPPENS a hanging sort and thus somewhat of a question on the stretch in distance.

THIRD RACE

LUZMIMI PRINCESS set contested pace against grain of the track, faded late in the Glitter Woman now back to more suitable spot, lures Castellano, might not look back today. MIDNIGHT SOIREE goes turf to dirt and exiting what is arguably her best yet. Should come running if this one does tie up at the end. ELEVENSES got hung wide behind preferred choice when a major disappointment in Glitter Woman off well graded bow which did come on a wet surface. Gets full make over for return, blinks and Lasix today.

FOURTH RACE

CAVARADOSSI working well for bow and by win early sire Speightstown. Hard to ignore high priced yearling purchase in debut. TIMBER GHOST got pounded at first asking but disappointed after being knocked around at the start. Deserves another chance with blinkers added for the occasion. ALMITHMAAR has shown big speed in the a.m. and another who brought big bucks at the sale.

FIFTH RACE

STEVE’S SONATA stretches out off the claim after losing all chance at the break in first venture to this level. Might get brave if able to clear off early with these. BONUS CARD did well to run second after getting hung wide throughout plunging to this level on 2/18. J/T combo both got off duck for meet on Friday. GRAN NETWORK back to the main where he showed some promise in key race last fall at GPW. Nicely drawn inside for improved showing at what should be square price.

SIXTH RACE

CRAZY FRANK C hard to knock in his current form. Veteran loves the course having been 1-2 in nearly 50 per cent of his starts at GP. Should get another good stalking trip off the speed. Putting a line through ENDERS CAT’s latest when trapped in very tough position between horses three wide dueling for early advantage. Previous pair suggest he’s a good fit here. STRONG COMPOSITION dominated softer in latest but not likely to see front end as readily today.

SEVENTH RACE

MOMINOU switches to the lawn off a pretty decent freshening while having caught some killers in N Y and 2yo finale. Workout report has been encouraging over PM sod. OROSCOPO hard used
