BEST BET: RACE 7, GO GONE GONE

FIRST RACE

KING’S GHOST had to steady early and then never really got involved in the $75K Powder Break in her fist start for Gargan. She meets easier company here and could be tough to handle if Juarez can get her into the mix early. Her stablemate, INSIDE OUT, wasn’t a factor in the same race but she just missed going this distance at this level two back. She should be heard from late with Gaffalione riding. NO SWEAT could make a big impact from a forward position in the third start of her current form cycle.

SECOND RACE

ARCHVILLAIN just missed in a similar spot and the horse he edged for third finished 11-lengths clear of the third-place finisher. He could be tough to get past if he breaks on top. KING MAURO hasn’t won on dirt but he will be making his first start for Barboza who since 2015 has a 38% strike rate and $3.24 ROI with claimed horses running back the first time. MOONSHINE MARTINI made a nice middle move but ended up going very wide on the turn in the same race the top pick exits. The 8-time winner worked a sharp 3 furlongs June 1 and could be rounding into form.

THIRD RACE

I TURN A NIGHT UP finished last in his debut, but, he didn’t break that well and the winner and runner-up are now stakes winners. This seems like an easier spot and being by a decent turf sire he could thrive with the move to grass. GREEN MANSIONS might not have cared for the sloppy conditions in his latest and considering his race on grass two back he should appreciate being back on the lawn. Hard not to notice Zayas bails to ride the top pick, though. SILVER WINGS REVEN should also appreciate being back on the lawn after not firing in the same race SILVER WINGS REVEN exits. HASTA LA BYEBYE ran a big race in his debut on dirt and becomes the choice if the race gets moved to the main track. His breeding suggests turf might not be his preferred surface with might being the key word.

FOURTH RACE

DANCE AROUND showed he doesn’t need the lead when he romped in his latest and should get a similar trip sitting just off what could be a fast and contested pace. BLUEGRASS ENVY easily handled the top pick two back and ran another strong race when he finished third at this level. If he can clear early he could be the winner but other speed could make his task difficult. HANGRY should appreciate the shape of the race and could get up in time to help spice up the exotics.

FIFTH RACE

CHASITY finished third in a key race when she debuted at Woodbine last year and she also ran into some tough ones in her second start on Tapeta. She’s been away for a while but has been working well for a hot trainer who has solid stats in all the relevant categories. SOLDAT HOUSE drops to a new low and could take a big step forward in her second start back while cutting back to what may be her preferred distance. VIOLENT NATURE owns the best last-race Beyer, which she earned in a similar race, but, it would have been nice to see her come back a little sooner.

SIXTH RACE

FORTY FATHOMS gets off the rail after being the inside horse in a duel in a tougher spot in his first try with winners. The lightly-raced 3-year-old came back with a sharp work, gets in light and could be tough to reel in if he breaks on top. SALTY KINDA DOG ran well in both of his starts on dirt at Tampa Bay this year and once again didn’t fire when he tried turf in his latest. Note the strong stats his trainer has with horses moving from turf to dirt. TWISTCAT CANDY is coming off an improved effort in his latest and becomes interesting if it comes up wet. He could also pick up a slice if it does stay dry.

SEVENTH RACE

GO GONE GONE won three in a row prior to getting fried in his latest where he forced taxing fractions

from the outside in a three-horse duel. That was a nice work May 30, he moves inside, and make his fist first start for a trainer who has solid numbers with newly claimed horses. DOMENIC took advantage when the speed drifted out on the turn and got up in time to nail ASKED AND ANSWERED who had inherited the lead. He can stalk and should get a nice trip here. ASKED AND ANSWERED could turn the tables if can avoid getting into an all-out duel with the top pick, and he did seem comfortable sitting behind the other speed before they had trouble coming out of the turn.

EIGHTH RACE

DANCE WITH MACHO just missed in both of her races on dirt in $50K maiden claimers and catches what appears to be an average field in this straight maiden race. Toss her race on turf and she looks like the one to beat. CRYSTAL AVALANCHE easily owns the best Beyer Speed Figure but it is hard to say how she’ll come back after being away this long, plus, none of the last five Gold brought back from layoffs of a year or more won. They were all pretty big prices, though, and that shouldn’t be the case here. MIJA BELLA has been working like she can run a bit and Biancone can have them ready to roll first time. Sire is a respectable 12% with first-time starters but her dam was unraced and the only sibling has just one third-place finish from seven starts.

NINTH RACE

DISCREET GAL didn’t break that sharply in her debut, and after rushing up to chase the pace while going wide she understandably tired. She moves inside here, Barboza has excellent numbers with second-time starters, and she could be gone if she breaks alertly. DRINKS ON MAGGIE held on well to just miss in the same race but she broke from the rail and is now moving outside the other speed. She has improved in her last two so it wouldn’t shock anyone if she did win this. ALL IN GIRL didn’t get beat by much in her last two tries on the lawn and she went pretty wide when she ran over a sloppy track in her latest. She should appreciate the shape of the race while making her first start for Klesairis who has solid numbers with newly claimed horses.
