BEST BET: RACE 6, PICASSO MOON

FIRST RACE

BRIGHTER IDEAS is getting some class relief following a winter layoff, and her trainer won with a sharp comebacker on the grass last Saturday. Boulanger was aboard for two of her three tallies. LIDDYUP is plunging to a logical spot after a double-digit loss in her season opener in an N1X route on the Tapeta. PRETTY TWO FACED was crowded at the break en route to running fifth in her six-furlong comeback, which should set her up for the stretchout to nine panels.

SECOND RACE

REAL POINT lacked room through the last furlong before checking in a close fifth on a speed-conducive track when stretching out in her latest. Nine furlongs should suit her to a T. A. A. AZULA’S ARCH rode the bias to a narrow loss in the aforementioned contest. She’s adding Lasix, while retaining a hot Da Silva. MO BIG CAT was competitive on both surfaces at 2, and was seventh behind some salty opposition in the G1 Natalma, most notably the future champion 2yo filly Wonder Gadot.

THIRD RACE

OLIVIA’S UNCLE is exiting a front-running score in a seven-furlong N1X (85 Beyer) on the Tapeta. His turf form is mediocre at best, but he looks to be taking an edge in this $12.5K starter. THREE RING CIRCUS is eligible to run big in his second race off the shelf, even though his turf form is spotty. VIRGA closed belatedly on a speed-favoring surface to finish a distant third when returning to action in a $10K starter. CLEVER NOW is bred for the grass on the dam’s side.

FOURTH RACE

FRANK OF ALL TRADES showed little after getting away slowly when bet down to 3-1 at first asking in a maiden special on the dirt at Gulfstream. The 4yo is meeting much easier in this $20K maiden claimer, after working twice on the Tapeta. CLASSIC DANIEL prevailed in a front-end battle before giving way grudgingly in a shorter sprint at this price May 16. BAY OF RUM is getting some class relief for his third race off the sidelines, while moving out from five to six and a half furlongs.

FIFTH RACE

COLEYVILLE rallied for second as the favorite when going long on the Tapeta off an extended layoff three weeks ago. The handsome gray/roan is arguably at his best on the grass, and has some speed to chase in this one-mile turf tilt. SILENT BLAZE faded in the final furlong after leading they way to finish fourth behind COLEYVILLE when debuting May 16. The son of Silent Name is bred for the grass, and could take some catching with blinkers added. STORMY ACTION is stretching out for his local debut, with blinkers on. Use him underneath in vertical wagers, along with DETROIT STEEL.

SIXTH RACE

PICASSO MOON ran third behind Little Christy and Crumlin Spirit off a long break April 19, and a wide trip after a slow start led to her downfall in a longer NW3 OS allowance/$40K claimer most recently. She’s halving in value while moving out to six and a half furlongs for the third race of her form cycle, and has found a field that she can handle. BOLDNPOSSIBLE ended a drought when she polished off $10K NW2 types after a five-month absence May 5. Her trainer has solid numbers with horses exiting a victory. Use HOCKEY HAIR and CALLIE LIKED HERBREW on the bottom of the exotics.

SEVENTH RACE

CROSS BORDER beat NW2 stock after a wide journey under leading rider Hernandez when going seven-eighths on the Tapeta April 29. The versa-

tile 4yo is bred to be a late bloomer, and could double up with his confidence on a high. MICK THE

CONQUEROR finished up the track after racing wide in a key seven-furlong tilt May 6, which contained the future winners Souper Fly Over and Nupogodi. The move to the grass could get him back on track.

SPLIT MY PANTS is another who could make his presence felt while changing surfaces for his second race of the season. FLYING GHOST, a son of the good turf sire Ghostzapper, is a wild card.

EIGHTH RACE

STILL IN FASHION is by a 12% debut sire, and her trainer been on fire at the meet with his older firsttime starters. The new 10-pound bug Kimura has the call on the Florida-bred. ADIOS MIA closed wide against the grain of a speed bias to finish second in a similar spot May 21. She’s a must-use underneath in the gimmicks, with Singh back in the saddle. ASK THE BOSS improved to third in her second trip postward May 11, which was her first start for Colebrook Farm. Use WHILE YOU SLEEPING in the tri and super.
