BEST BET: RACE 9, DUDACITY

FIRST RACE

FONTANAZZA couldn’t keep up to an easy winner who was dropping out of stakes company but she fits nicely here and drew a good post where Sanchez should be able to either put her on the lead or let her stalk the other speed. SECRET PLEASURE looked good winning her second start for Vitali and might be good enough to handle the jump. She also seems versatile so Juarez has more than one option. SALSA RITA had a rough trip when she finished fourth in a similar race June 21 and could make a big impact with clear sailing. NOTHINS FREE is another possibility in what appears to be a wide-open event.

SECOND RACE

HOT N SOUR is the second foal out of a mare who won her debut on a synthetic track at Del Mar and went on to become a Grade 1 winner on turf. Gaffalione attracted and Thomas has won with three of the last seven 2-year-olds he debuted in MSW races on turf. SHARPEN MY SENSES had a troubled debut but came back with a sharp work and figures to move forward for a trainer who has solid numbers with second-time starters. She would be a bit more attractive if the race gets moved to the main track. ITSGOTTABEMYWAY worked a fast 3 furlongs June 27 and she is by a decent debut sire who is roughly 12% as an overall turf sire.

THIRD RACE

NANCYSAIDSO freaked in the slop and the race was validated when the runner-up romped and earned an 80 Beyer Speed Figure in her next start. Nancy also ran well in her first two starts on fast tracks. SWEETSWEETSWEET took a big step forward in her second start and may have been trying to tell us something when she worked a bullet 4 furlongs in 46.80 seconds Friday. She’s a half-sister to the stakes winner Concealedwithakiss who won 11 races so she as the breeding to be a decent horse. SNOWZILLA and FIRST TIME PROUD both improved second time out and are capable of making an impact if they continue moving forward.

FOURTH RACE

HONOR INDY will appreciate the easier company with the drop into a maiden claimer for the first time and she could be sitting on a peak performance in the third start of her form cycle. She was also fighting her rider during the early stages of her latest and could be tough to handle if she settles for Camacho. CRYSTAL AVALANCHE faded in a race she may have needed and could take a big step forward with a race behind her. She also ran okay on the turf earlier in her career so she should be fine with the surface switch. COLONELS DAUGHTER is basically regrouping after being rank in her first try on grass in just her second start. Expecting a better performance from her with Gaffalione picking up the mount. MOTHERWELL is eligible to improve off of her promising debut.

FIFTH RACE

PACHANGA PARTY flopped as the heavy chalk but he may have bounced after posting one of the best Beyer Speed Figures in his career in his romp in his previous race. He is the speed of the speed and his new trainer won right back with six of the last 12 he’s claimed. DREAM SATURDAY is versatile, won at this level two back, and could pick up the pieces if an all-out duel develops in front of him. MORE MIA is better on turf but he is dropping to a new low and could be sitting on a big effort in his second start following a layoff. Zayas attracted and he has a high winning percentage riding for Rodriguez.

SIXTH RACE

ALL ABOUT YASOM is coming off two solid efforts and the latest was in a race washed off the lawn.

His race on turf two back where he finished third behind $348K 10-time winner Padilla stamps him as the one to beat. VERY COLORFUL is a bit shy when it comes to winning, but his last two races put him in the mix and there should be an honest enough pace to set him up. STONE HEART ran an improved race when he moved back to turf in his latest and he was right there the last two times Gaffalione was aboard. LOST FOR WORDS seems to be heading in the wrong direction, but he is the main speed and could be tough to reel in if he gets away on his own.

SEVENTH RACE

R NEXT ROLL is on a roll and anything close to her last two races makes her the winner. It would have been nice to have seen a work since she ran over a month ago, but this outfit usually has them ready to roll, and her new trainer is reportedly an assistant to Ziadie. OOLA GAL looked good winning a first-level allowance race for statebreds two back and she ran okay in the $75K Liza Jane. There should also be an honest pace to set her up. ENIGMATICA should appreciate being back on the main track after not firing in her first try on grass. She should also get a nice trip stalking what could be an honest and contested pace.

EIGHTH RACE

SMALL FORTUNE looked good winning his latest on the main track and with five wins going this distance on grass he should be fine with the surface switch. He is also versatile and shows up just about every time. STARSHIP WILDCAT is a 10-time winner at the distance, owns the best last-race Beyer Speed Figure, and is coming off a runner-up finish behind a pretty nice horse. Lots to like and nobody should be surprised if he’s the winner. ASKED AND ANSWERED is trending in the right direction and has enough speed to take advantage of his inside post.

NINTH RACE

DUDACITY is coming off a decent effort in a key race on the main track and if she runs as well as she did on turf two back she’s the winner. She has been working nicely and is reunited with Gaffalione. ALL IN GIRL is stepping up in price but she is coming out of a key race and she showed improvement in her first start for Klesaris. Being the first foal out of nd a 4-time route winner she should be okay with the added distance. SUNFEST owns the best last-race Beyer Speed Figure but will need to avoid a wide trip. RUN BLONDIE RUN came back with a sharp work following a solid effort coming off a layoff and at the least should be part of any exotics ticket.
