LOS ALAMITOS RACE COURSE

returns to sprinting and all that may get him back on track. REVEREND AL was a decent 4th as the 6-5 favorite vs. $12,500 N2L foes here June 29. Today’s price drop helps.

SEVENTH RACE

This is a redraw of a race cancelled July 6. IKE was good enough to be 2nd in a route stakes for his class at OP April 14. He was freshened, came back with a decent 3rd in a sprint at SA June 23 and now moves back to this longer trip so he can move forward. That said, it’s first time vs. elders today. AQUILA faced some of the circuit’s best 3yos this winter/spring but found those waters a bit too deep. The $685K son of G1 SW Union Rags has been freshened, returns as a gelding and has worked well for this for a trainer who can fire off the layoff. As with IKE, though, he faces elders for the first time. CANADIAN GAME may have turned the corner as the $375K son of two-time Horse of the Year Curlin gamely beat maidens at SA June 7. He faces winners now but has worked well since.

EIGHTH RACE

This is a redraw of a race cancelled July 6. MISCHIEVIOUS LASS has been knocking on the door since the start of this year and looks ready to break through and get her diploma as she probably won’t get many shots better than this. VEILED HEAT has had lots of chances (15) but five 2nds show she has ability and it’s encouraging four of those 2nds came in her last five starts. KELSEYBELLE comes here sharp from GG. This is her first start on dirt so that’s a hurdle, but she is bred for it.
