SIXTH RACE LOS ALAMITOS RACE COURSE

-

JADE DEE, a $270K daughter of Congrats, didn’t do much in her debut here July 4 but it’s most encouraging Baffert brings her right back, particularly as there’s no drop involved. As good as Baffert is first time out he’s as good or better 2nd time out. COLONEL POWER dueled and stayed on decently for 3rd in her debut in that same July 4 race as the top pick. The $180K daughter of G1 SW Colonel John obviously has speed and ability. SHAKEN MEMORIES battled on the front end in a tough stakes here last Sept. 16 before finishing a game 2nd, showing she has ample ability. Trouble is, she hasn’t been seen since so that’s a long layoff to overcome. At least there’s no drop for her return, she’s been working steadily and reappears with blinkers.

SEVENTH RACE

TOWARDS THE LIGHT is entered in a similar race Saturday. The 4yo gelding comes off a sharp 2nd in a race just like this here June 30, showing the level suits and that he handles this track. He’s shown speed and versatility. CHRISISCOOKIN is entered in that same race as the top pick Saturday as well. He found turf and racing for twice this tag at SA June 22 too much to handle at SA June 22 but the drop and return to dirt help. He has plenty of speed in his arsenal. INSUBORDINATION dueled vs. $12,500 N2L foes here June 29 and July 8 and paid the price in each, finishing 2nd in the former and 3rd in the latter. Still, those outings show he’s a solid fit at this level and handles this place, and surely his speed can have him involved from the bell.

EIGHTH RACE

NEW KARMA stalked the pace routing at SA June 22 but was unable to make a dent in the lane, finishing 4th. That was his first start off the claim for Vallejo who moves him back to a sprint after that route try. It’s most encouraging Vallejo again does not risk him for a tag. DEVILS INFORMER comes off a decent 4th in a race just like this here July 4, beaten just two lengths. He has ample speed to be involved from the start and most of his best work has come here. MOOSE ON THE LOOSE looked super blasting $4K N2L foes on OTP dirt June 23. Aquino not only saw fit to claim him, but brings him south and puts him in a spot where he can’t be claimed away.

NINTH RACE

RAINDANCE RULES comes off a sharp 2nd for this price on GG turf June 3, a run which looks even better when you note three he faced that day came right back to win. He moves to dirt and handled this type of footing well at SA over a year ago. E BRADLEY COOPER dueled nd and tired a bit to end up 4th in a race just like this here July 1. That was still a decent outing and just his second start after 11 months off so he can improve. ARTISTIC AB broke through the gate prior to the start of a race like this here June 30. After being reloaded he broke slowly but ran on well for 4th, beaten just 2 1/4 lengths. That was a nice run considering his prerace antics and the fact it was just his second start after seven months on the bench. See you all at the seaside. 4961 Katella Avenue, Los Alamitos, CA 90720 (714) 820-2800 Main track: One mile, oval. Distance from last turn to finish line: 1,380 feet.
