HORSES TO WATCH
DEL MAR LAW ABIDIN CITIZEN
Trainer: Mark Glatt Last race: July 25, 4th Finish: 5th by 4 1/4 Beyer: 86
Allowance turf sprinter raced inside, steadied to briefly lose his action and his position passing the quarter pole, rerallied inside, and finished with run in a better-than-it-looked effort.
PIONEEROF THE WEST
Trainer: Vladimir Cerin Last race: July 26, 5th Finish: 5th by 6 1/4 Beyer: 72 Veteran is just 2 for 22 but perhaps had an
alibi in this race. He had a rail trip, found traffic, and stalled at the quarter pole, then went one-paced. He needs to rally wide. Live longshot in a similar N3L claiming route.
A WALK IN THE PARK
Trainer: Phil D’Amato Last race: July 26, 7th Finish: 2nd by head Beyer: 83
This Cal-bred allowance filly improved a bunch first start after a trainer change. Pressed the pace, led into the lane, and was collared. Tough to beat next time in a similar statebred N1X turf route.
THE HUNTED
Trainer: Richard Baltas Last race: July 27, 3rd Finish: 3rd by 8 Beyer: 68
This second-start maiden, gelded since his debut, ran much better in this statebred maiden turf route. Shot to the lead, set a fast pace, and weakened. Unusual Heat gelding is figuring things out.
SCREENSHOT
Trainer: Phil D’Amato Last race: July 28, 2nd Finish: 6th by 3 Beyer: 64 A first-time starter in a turf sprint, this 3-year-old lagged off the pace, saved ground, finished willingly, and galloped out with run. Good debut prep; she may want longer.

WOODBINE SPLIT MY PANTS
Trainer: Catherine Day Phillips
Last race: July 28, 10th Finish: 6th by 5 Beyer: 70 He was bottled up in traffic along the inside throughout most of the stretch in a non-winners-of-three turf sprint for Ontario-sired allowance types and $40,000 claimers.
STOLEN IDENTITY
Trainer: Bill Tharrenos Last race: July 29, 2nd Finish: 1st by 8 1/4 Beyer: 66 The debuting 2-year-old ran to his rapid works when winning an Ontario-sired maiden special weight race with ease. He should be among the favorites in the Aug. 29 Simcoe Stakes, for graduates of local yearling sales.
