BEST BET: RACE 3, MOKSGMOL

FIRST RACE

AN THE CROWD GOES WILD is by the 5%2 yo debut sire Court Vision, but her dam dropped the precocious stakes-placed juvenile Altius, along with stakes-placed Silent Respect. She’s worked quickly for an outfit that can have one ready, and the barn’s go-to rider Da Silva has the mount. LOVE ON A FENCE has drilled several bullets, most notably a half in :47.60 from the gate Sept. 19. BEAR HUGS is by a 19% 2yo debut sire, and she’s a fullsister to the speedy sucker horse Dontdropurcrop.

SECOND RACE

Following a two-month absence, PERFECT FORESTER is dropping back down to the starter level at which he was a prominent second to the good Marten Lake on July 11. In a field with ample early foot, his tactical speed may come in handy. The consistent front-runner THREE RING CIRCUS is competing just beyond his optimum distance in this six and a half-furlong turf sprint. Classy Chicago invader PABLO DEL MONTE is another speed horse who could have a say in the outcome.

THIRD RACE

MOKSGMOL dueled up front along the rail before fading over a track that favored outside/closers in the Muskoka Stakes, and then raced against a speed bias most recently when fifth in the Victorian Queen Stakes. If things go her way in the OS allowance, she could spring the upset under Hernandez. GEORGIAN DANCER came inside from a stalking position to lose the six-furlong Victorian Queen by a half-length to SILENT MISTAKE, who had everything her own way while setting a slow pace, with the aid of the bias. SAILING BY is better than her poor showing in the Muskoka would indicate.

FOURTH RACE

MISS ARTIE DECO got away slowly before landing on the edges last time in a nine-furlong maiden special. The daughter of Artie Schiller is dropping to a new low here for $20K going a mile, the distance over which she was fourth for

$32K Aug. 19. AUNTIE KATHERINE flattened out to fourth after a stalking trip on a day when the turf was kind to closers in a recent $25K sprint going seven furlongs. MAMITA’S CHICA made the board for the first time in an identical spot Sept. 8. Use the daughter of Silent Name underneath in the gimmicks, along with LONHRO’S COLLECTION, who’s tagged for the first time.

FIFTH RACE

SAMURAI QUEEN rallied inside for second on a speed-conducive track when debuting in a sprint Sept. 22. The daughter of First Samurai is bred to run on, and should take some beating on the stretch out to a mile and a sixteenth. DESCENTE led until the last jump when she went from a shorter sprint to a mile and 70 yards in her latest. CALAIS CAT was hard-ridden for fourth in both of her sprints. The English Channel filly should welcome an extra turn here in her second start with Lasix. MOONSTONE is bred to be a sprinter on the dam’s side.

SIXTH RACE

KALLAN is a seven-furlong expert in sharp form. She went five-wide on the turn before checking in second to the favorite in a six-furlong tilt at this $10K B level Sept. 26. THIRTY NINE SEVEN should be favored on the drop from $20K, as she switches from turf to the Tapeta. She’s done her optimum running on the lead of late, and could have company from Ask the Boss if she employs an aggressive style. TURBO DRIVEN DIVA is dropping off a wide fourth in a key $20K contest, and could better this projected placing with the hot bug Kimura aboard.

SEVENTH RACE

THOR’S ROCKET has run consistently well at the meet, under a variety of conditions, without finding the mark. He just missed in his penultimate outing on the grass, in a second-level optional claimer won by the hard-knocking Eminent Force—a repeat of that race would make him a player in this OS stakes. KINGSPORT lost this onemile event by a nose in 2015. His recent form is inconsistent, but the handsome dark bay figures to take some beating if he brings his “A” game. RED CABERNET is taking on the boys off back-to-back victories against her own sex in the Victoriana Stakes and an N2X. Use the late bloomer underneath in vertical wagers, along with WHERE’S THE WIDGET, who won this race in 2016 and was fifth last year.

EIGHTH RACE

COLLEEN’S SAILOR has had a little break since finishing fifth in a key $20K tilt over seven furlongs Aug. 31, from which the winner exited to double up for $25K. The 13-time winner is plunging in price, and could be taking an edge in this fivefurlong dash for $6.25K stock. VALIANT FLAME could only manage second at 3-5 in a recent $10K claimer going five-eighths. He rarely runs a bad one, however, and should be prominent as the chalk. PHIL IN THE BLANK is another dropper who should be in the hunt. Use him in the lower rungs of the exotics, along with DAN THE TIN MAN.
