How to play the Pick 4

RUSHING FALL is thoroughly top-class. She looked super whipping some of these in the Grade 2 Lake Placid at Saratoga last time out Aug. 18. She’s been freshened and is just a neck shy of being perfect in six starts. NYALETI was a good sixth in the Grade 1 Beverly D at Arlington Aug. 11 when facing elders, beaten by just 2 3/4 lengths by the leader of the American older distaff turf division, Sistercharlie. She then faced some top elder males in a Group 2 in England and again wasn’t beaten by much. (2)

THUNDERING BLUE knocked heads with some of Europe’s best and comes here off a smart Group 3. SPRING QUALITY had a super year going before tossing in a dud in the Grade 1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic at Belmont as he apparently didn’t like the soft going. He’s certainly capable of better. KHAN looked like a new horse when he jumped up with a smashing 20-1 win in a German Group 1 Sept. 23. A repeat of that makes him scary. (3)

NOW POWER was a game second as the even-money favorite last time out at Ellis Park beaten just a nose, a run which looks even better when you note that gal she beat for second came right back to win. DYNATAIL has been knocking on the door. She comes out of a tough optional claimer at Saratoga and has the speed to be in a good spot from the start. SMART EMMA was awfully game to win her last at Ellis Park Aug. 4 as she had the lead, lost it, but re-rallied to win. (3)

STARSHIP JUBILEE looked super blasting some tough foes in the Grade 2 Canadian here Sept. 15. She thinks she owns this course and may be in the best form of her life. POLLARA is a scary French import who showed plenty of talent overseas and still has room to develop, having run just three times. SANTA MONICA won the Grade 2 Dance Smartly on this course at this trip June 30. (3)
