BEST BET: RACE 3, MARCH OF DREAMS FIRST RACE

STASH THE CASH stalked a fast pace along the inside before taking control and then weakening to third when dropping to this price in his first venture around two turns three weeks ago. Off a troubled/wide double-digit loss, HIT THE TICKET is descending from maiden special company. He deserves one more chance over a route of ground. KID MALINE is by classic winner Lemon Drop Kid, and his dam took the Remington Oaks. His trainer recently scored with a debuting 2yo going long.

SECOND RACE

DRINK IN MY HAND was competitive against tougher earlier in the meet, while being campaigned sporadically in bar shoes. The flashy chestnut is returning from another layoff, and can track all the speed en route to a high placing. NUPOGODI showed nothing during a wide trip last time vs. $25K opposition, and is dropping to a new low after working a half-mile. STAY DETERMINED gave way grudgingly after prevailing in a three-way speed battle at a notch lower Oct. 13. He could get the better of PERFECT FORESTER in the projected front-end duel.

THIRD RACE

MARCH OF DREAMS has been knocking on the door in one-mile turf routes at this level. The stretch-runner is bred to run all day, and should enjoy the move out to nine furlongs. RED RIOT seemed headed for victory in the stretch last time before trying to lug in, and wound up second in that seven-furlong Tapeta sprint. Her sire is a surprising 0 for 83 with progeny trying the grass for the first time, but her dam has produced four turf winners from eight starters. ORBORTUNISTIC was a game maiden breaker over nine panels on the grass a month ago. Contreras retains the mount and is 3 for 8 at the meet for this live barn.

FOURTH RACE

SLAM sticks out in this $6.25K NW2 tilt on recent Beyers, and should take some beating on the drop from $10K NW2 company. RED CHILL raced wide over an inside-favoring track when seventh for the second straight time at a notch higher Oct. 7. Apprentice Kimura takes over on the possible live longshot, who’s stretching back out to the distance of his maiden triumph. DIAMONDS AND ROSES deserves another chance around two turns. Use him on the bottom of vertical wagers, along with KITTEN’S DILEMMA.

FIFTH RACE

PICTURES OF YOU wired $16K maidens by seven lengths with a 75 Beyer on the Tapeta in her latest. With the rail out in lane 5, she could do the same in this $20K NW2 turf sprint. HURRICANE EMILY is halving in value off an even fourth-place finish. Throw out her subpar performance Sept. 21, when she showed surprising speed before tiring on a very windy card that was eventually cancelled. DESERT POEM ran hot and cold in her last two starts, both going long on the lawn. Her trainer has fared okay with turnbacks, and the 4yo is being reunited with the rider who was aboard for his last score.

SIXTH RACE

CUMMINGS ROAD overcame a troubled trip to win a seven-furlong event at this $6.25K class with a 76 Beyer in his penultimate outing. He rallied wide from off fast fractions for third most recently in a $12.5K claimer, and could be along in time here with Contreras taking over from Kimura, who’s landed on VALIANT FLAME. The latter raced wide in a stalking position over an inside-biased track last time before losing a nail-biter. A sixtime winner in 2017, he’s failed to find the mark in eight starts this year. PAT DADDY checked in third behind the top pick in each of his September excursions. A wide trip against the bias led to another third behind VALIANT FLAME in his latest.

SEVENTH RACE

CORPS DE BALLET was a successful miler last year in SoCal. She’s worked encouragingly since a wide/closing second going seven-eighths Sept. 23, and is made-to-order for this one-mile optional claimer. PARTY BOAT is winless in 10 starts since notching a stakes at Aqueduct in the spring of last year. The consistent Maryland shipper should be along for a share, with Da Silva riding for trainer Graham Motion. KYLLA INSTINCT hasn’t missed the board at this level at the meet. She’s versatile in terms of running style, and should be used underneath in the exotics, along with INDIAN PAINT, who closed for third behind the top choice after shipping in from Maryland Sept. 23.

EIGHTH RACE

KITCHEN FIRE earned a fat 86 Beyer last time for his front-running romp in a $25K conditioned claimer over the kinder Tapeta at Presque Isle. The four-time winner gets to run against double winners here because of the clause in the conditions that allows for 3yos with any number of victories to compete. ROCK N’ CANDY faded to fourth last time after leading the way in a tougher NW3 tilt won by Magical Man, who returned to capture an N1X with a 72 Beyer. He might be at his best as a stalker. FORT WISE TREATY could pick up some of the pieces, and MAJESTIC FEVER can garner some of the scraps.

NINTH RACE

O’KRAM set soft fractions before weakening late to finish a clear second last time for $10K. He’s meeting easier NW2 opposition this time, and could make all the running under Contreras. GIANT MINE looks next best off a wide fifth for $10K. He was previously fourth behind the top pick after another wide journey. HYTHE is dropping back down to where he belongs following a dull effort. Consider him for the lower rungs of the gimmicks, along with stall-walker RED BO.
