BEST BET: RACE 8, TINKER RING

FIRST RACE

MOONSTONE set fast fractions on an uncontested lead before coming up a nose short when moving out to a route second-time out Oct. 8. She can get the job done this time with Campbell back aboard. SAMURAI QUEEN looks next best off a close third behind the top pick in her second trip postward. Leading rider Da Silva takes over on the Joey Gee homebred. MOCHI weakened to second after setting a slow pace when stretching out to a mile at second asking a month ago at Presque Isle.

SECOND RACE

FLASHYMEISTER stalked four-wide en route to finishing second over a turf course that hindered speed in his second race Sept. 28. The gelded son of Bodemeister is made-to-order for this two-turn maiden special on the main track. MOON SWINGS has worked nicely since finishing a belated third in the restricted Cup and Saucer Stakes. He was previously sixth in the G1 Summer, which came on the heels of a wide fourth in a tough maiden special won by Nashtrick. GLOBAL ACCESS showed little in his debut on the dirt at Parx, but the well-bred son of Giant’s Causeway is a half-brother to Toronto Cup Stakes winner March to the Arch. He’s eligible to wake up with blinkers on. Use the paddler CHANGE AT THE TOP underneath in the gimmicks.

THIRD RACE

KEY RED had worked decently prior to her $16K opener Sept. 29, when she finished a distant fourth after trying to mount a wide bid. With the top bug Kimura aboard, she’s eligible to improve significantly off the McKnight claim. EESTI STAR has been sidelined since a subpar showing vs. OS/$40K maidens June 16. She was second in her $32K seasonal bow, and note that her trainer has impressive stats with similar comebackers. MISS DANIELLE is dropping off another third, which was in a B-level maiden special. She’s a must-use on the bottom of vertical wagers.

FOURTH RACE

MEET YOU AT HOME rallied for second in an identi-

cal spot two back, and was a belated fourth most recently in a higher $10K NW2 event. She doesn’t have much to beat on this occasion. I HAVE FEELINGS wired $8K maidens going seven-eighths in her penultimate outing, but her first venture against winners in a route wasn’t anything to write home about. She figures to show more on the turnback, with Bahen getting the call. DUBHE is questionable going this far, but could have a say in the outcome. Save her for the lower rungs of the exotics, along with PENNY A POINT.

FIFTH RACE

BOLD HOPE won a five-furlong dash last October from off the pace on the turnback from threequarters, and could duplicate that feat. He’s descending to a new low for his second race after a break, and has lots of speed to chase. CORKY’S THE NAME wired $10K claimers going five-eighths with a 79 Beyer last time out Sept. 12. He could be the dominant speed in this seemingly tougher $8K tilt. LOWI VENE can make the most of his tactical speed by hitting the ticket from a stalking position. Toss 12yo TEVEZ in the super.

SIXTH RACE

SEGUIMI didn’t have a very good trip along the inside over an outside-biased track when third in the Simcoe Stakes, and then graduated on the stretchout to a route in his latest. He could double up in this seven-furlong OS stakes, if things go his way. KRACHENWAGEN rallied from six lengths back to win his five-furlong opener going away Oct. 19. This longer distance seems within reach for the half-brother to stakes-placed Ratface Macdougall, although the relatively quick comeback isn’t ideal. CAPTAIN HANDSOME rode a golden rail to victory at first asking in an open five-furlong maiden special Oct. 7. The son of leading Ontario sire Silent Name is a half-brother to stakes winners Circle of Friends and Quick Code. BOURBON STRITTA closed wide from left field to take the six-furlong Bull Page Stakes following a layoff Sept. 23.

SEVENTH RACE

COURT BATTLE was in winning front-running form prior to coming up empty after a stalking trip last time in a key $20K route, which contained the next-out winners Greenfield and Rocket Plan. Expect him to revert to a more aggressive speed style in this $10K B contest. CRY BAO rallied from off a pedestrian pace to topple $10K NW2 stock last time under Hernandez, who retains the mount. CRUMLIN NIGHT comes off back-to-back solid efforts, and the leading bug Kimura takes over for this engagement.

EIGHTH RACE

TINKER RING came wide from fourth to just miss to a classy dropper in a longer sprint for $10K B types Oct. 12. He should have these $6.25K B rivals within his sights. BAKERSFIELD faded to finish four lengths in arrears after leading the way as the chalk in the aforementioned event. The cutback to six furlongs should be to his benefit. TOP HAT TRICK isn’t out of the realm of possibility off the bargain $3K claim at Fort Erie. SUBLIMINAL could hit the ticket if he fires one of his better shots.
