HORSES TO WATCH AT FASIG-TIPTON NOVEMBER SALE

Following are horses to watch during the Fasig-Tipton November sale, a singlesess­ion auction on Nov. 4. Horses were selected based primarily on their pedigrees and the racing or commercial results of notable family members. The selections reflect catalog updates and sale outs through Oct. 29.

Hip 55, weanling filly by Uncle Mo–Zoftig, by Cozzene. Consigned by Eaton Sales, agent.

Grade 1 winner Zoftig is the dam of Grade 1 winners Zo Impressive and Zaftig, both now stakes producers. Zo Impressive is the dam of Grade 3 winner Souper Tapit; Zaftig is the dam of Grade 2-placed Spinoff and stakes-placed Rugbyman; and another daughter, Zofzig, is the dam of Group 3 winner Zorion and group-placed Zip Top.

Hip 72, weanling filly by Into Mischief–Defy Gravity, by Bandini. Consigned by Paramount Sales, agent.

Stakes winner Defy Gravity is a halfsister to Grade 1 winner Callback. Their dam, Quickest, produced a filly who sold for $1 million last year to establish a co-record price for a weanling at FasigTipto­n November. This is the family of outstandin­g broodmares Get Lucky and Supercharg­er.

Hip 94, weanling colt by Bodemeiste­r–Holy Bubbette, by Holy Bull. Consigned by Hunter Valley Farm, agent.

Stakes winner Holy Bubbette is the dam of multiple Grade 2 winner and promising freshman sire Cairo Prince; of Grade 1-placed Nonna Mia, dam of Grade 1 winner Outwork; and of Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Sprint third-place finisher Holdin Bullets. Cairo Prince is a son of Pioneerof the Nile, who like Bodemeiste­r is by Empire Maker.

Hip 109, weanling colt by Pioneerof the Nile– Love the Chase, by Not For Love. Consigned by Bedouin Bloodstock, agent.

This colt is a half-brother to two-time Horse of the Year and dual classic winner California Chrome. Their dam, Love the Chase, sold for $1.95 million at this sale two years ago, and their yearling halfbrothe­r fetched $1.1 million at the Keeneland September yearling sale.

Hip 129, Salty (Quality Road–They call me lady luck, by Dixie Union). Consigned by Baccari Bloodstock, agent.

Salty, a Grade 2 winner and three times Grade 1 placed last year, broke through with a victory in the Grade 1 La Troienne Stakes earlier this year. She is offered as a racing or broodmare prospect.

Hip 133, Silky Serenade (Unbridled’s Song– Smooth as Silk, by Deputy Minister), in foal to Honor Code. Consigned by Select Sales, agent.

Silky Serenade is the dam of Grade 1 Alcibiades Stakes winner Restless Rider, who will be among the favorites for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies. Silky Serenade is a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Private Vow.

Hip 134, Skye Diamonds (First Dude–Exonerated, by Johannesbu­rg). Consigned by Taylor Made Sales, agent.

California-bred Skye Diamonds, a three-time graded stakes winner and candidate for the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint, is from the family of blue hens Better Than Honour and Blush With Pride.

Hip 153, Drumette (Henny Hughes–Endless Parade, by Williamsto­wn), in foal to Mastery. Consigned by Gainesway, agent.

This is the dam of Kentucky Oaks winner Monomoy Girl, who will seek to win her fifth Grade 1 of this season in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff.

Hip 159, Appealing Zophie (Successful Appeal–Zophie, by Hawkster), in foal to Tapit.

A Grade 1 winner herself, Appealing Zophie is the dam of Belmont Stakes winner Tapwrit. She sells carrying a full sibling to that seven-figure auction yearling. Appealing Zophie also is the dam of Grade 2 winner Ride a Comet.

Hip 160, A Raving Beauty (Mastercraf­tsman–Anabasis, by High Chaparral). Consigned by Elite, agent.

A stakes winner in her native Germany and Group 1 placed in Italy, A Raving Beauty has emerged among the top turf fillies and mares in the United States this year, winning the Grade 1 Just a Game and Grade 1 First Lady stakes. She could update her catalog page at the Breeders’ Cup.

Hip 168, Caledonia Road (Quality Road–Come a Callin, by Dixie Union). Consigned by Blake-Albina Thoroughbr­ed Services, agent.

Last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies winner and Eclipse Award divisional champion is offered as a racing or broodmare prospect. She is from the family of Grade 1 winners Hymn Book and Data Link.

Hip 171, Celestial Woods (Forestry–Celestial Bliss, by Relaunch), in foal to Candy Ride. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales, agent.

Celestial Woods is the dam of Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint winner Bobby’s Kitten, along with Grade 2 winner Camelot Kitten and stakes winner Major Magic. Her dam is a half-sister to champion Paradise Creek, as well as to Grade 1 winners Forbidden Apple and Wild Event.

Hip 178, Cover Song (Fastnet Rock–Misty For Me, by Galileo), in foal to Dubawi. Consigned by Elite, agent for dispersal of European breeding stock of Bobby Flay.

Grade 3 winner Cover Song is a unique offering on this side of the Atlantic, in foal to Dubawi, a leading young European sire. Well-related Group 1 winner Misty For Me is the dam of multiple Group 1 winners U S Navy Flag and Roly Poly.

Hip 180, Daddys Lil Darling (Scat Daddy–Miss Hot Salsa, by Houston). Consigned by Gainesway, agent for Normandy Farm.

Daddys Lil Darling showed the versatilit­y typical of late sire Scat Daddy, as she was a graded stakes winner and second in the Kentucky Oaks on dirt and winner of the Grade 1 American Oaks on turf. She

Mongoliann­d is a half-sister to Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint winner Saturday and to stakes winner Victoryase­cret.

Hip 183, Diva Delite (Repent–Tour Hostess, by Tour d’Or), in foal to Pioneerof the Nile. Consigned by Woodford Thoroughbr­eds, agent.

A Grade 3 winner herself, Diva Delite is the dam of multiple Grade 1 winner and Breeders’ Cup Distaff contender Midnight Bisou, as well as stakes-placed Stage Left.

Hip 188, Song of Bernadette (Bernardini–Winner’s Edge, by Seeking the Gold), in foal to War Front. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales, agent.

This is the dam of Breeders’ Cup Classic candidate Catholic Boy, winner of the Grade 1 Travers Stakes on dirt and Grade 1 Belmont Derby on turf this season. She is a half-sister to stakes winners Return to Paradise and Coya.

Hip 194, Finley’s lucky charm (Twirling Candy–Day of Victory,

This Grade 1 winner, offered as a racing or broodmare prospect, is among the favorites for the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint. She is from the immediate family of Grade 1 winners Pure Clan and Sky Diva.

Hip 195, Fourstar Crook (Freud–Avril a Portugal, by D’Accord). Consigned by Elite, agent.

Eight-time stakes winner broke through with her first Grade 1 victory in this year’s Flower Bowl and is headed to the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf.

Hip 200, Lady Aurelia (Scat Daddy–D’Wildcat Speed, by Forest Wildcat). Consigned by Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales, agent.

Lady Aurelia was twice a winner at the renowned Royal Ascot meeting, taking the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes en route to a Cartier Award as Europe’s champion juvenile filly and the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes over older males the following season. In total, she won or placed in seven stakes. Her dam and second dam were both champions in Puerto Rico.

Hip 208, Akron Moon (Malibu Moon–Akronism, by Not For Love), in foal to Quality Road. Consigned by Lane’s End, agent for JSM Equine.

Stakes-placed Akron Moon, a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Have At It, got off to a flying start in her broodmare career. Her first two foals are stakes winner Diamond King and multiple Grade 1 winner Bellafina, the favorite for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies. She sells carrying a full sibling to Bellafina.

Hip 218, Love the Chase (Not For Love–Chase It Down, by Polish Numbers), in foal to Uncle Mo. Consigned by Bedouin Bloodstock, agent.

This is the dam of two-time Horse of the Year and dual classic winner California Chrome. She sold for $1.95 million at this sale two years ago, and her yearling fetched $1.1 million at Keeneland September this year.

Hip 219, Loving Vindicatio­n (Vindicatio­n–Chimichurr­i, by Elusive Quality), in foal to Curlin. Consigned by Anderson Farms.

Already the dam of stakes winner Solemn Tribute, Loving Vindicatio­n is the dam of current Breeders’ Cup Distaff contender Wonder Gadot, a multiple Canadian classic winner who was second in the Kentucky Oaks.

Hip 234, Stopchargi­ngmaria (Tale of the Cat– Exotic Bloom, by Montbrook), in foal to Tapit. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales, agent.

Stopchargi­ngmaria, who counts the Breeders’ Cup Distaff among her three Grade 1 victories, sold for $2.8 million at this auction two years ago and now returns carrying her second foal. A halfbrothe­r to this mare sold for $2.1 million at the Keeneland September yearling sale.

Hip 239, Constellat­ion (Bellamy Road–For Royalty, by Not For Love), in foal to Curlin. Consigned by Bedouin Bloodstock, agent.

Grade 1 winner, who sells carrying her first foal, is out of stakes winner For Royalty, making her a half-sister to three stakes-placed runners. For Royalty sold for $2.1 million at Keeneland November in 2017.
