BEST BET: RACE 3, HONIG

FIRST RACE

ANOTHER TIME missed the break from the onehole by about four lengths before closing inside for third in her six-furlong debut, after which she galloped out well. She should be better for the experience in this seven-furlong maiden special. After a tardy start, AVIE’S SKY earned the highest Beyer on the page (72) when a fast-closing second in her six-furlong opener. MAD SLAM rallied for third behind the future maiden breaker Dancing Doll at first asking in a five-furlong maiden special.

SECOND RACE

BELLA FABIANA was in solid turf form here before romping in a $10K conditioned claimer over a sloppy strip at Fort Erie Sept. 25. She can double up with the capable Carignan back aboard. MY CANTATA got tired from pressing Green Doctor up front in a recent optional starter. She figures to take some catching in this much easier $12.5K sprint. COBRA SOPHIE is getting some noteworthy class relief following a break. WESTLODGE INTRIGUE was fourth among three next-out winners for $16K last out Sept. 7.

THIRD RACE

HONIG failed to challenge after getting away slowly and racing much farther back than usual in a recent N1X. His tactical speed may come in handy in this easier NW3 route, in his second try off the halter switch by a trainer who has good numbers second-time off the claim over the past three years. SEATTLE AFFAIR maintained solid grass form throughout the meet, and his two Tapeta races going short early in his career were both decent. BLAKEY benefited from an inside bias in his front-running score vs. $40K NW2 stock Oct. 7.

FOURTH RACE

ABOGADA began slowly before coming from left field to finish a close third in her last excursion. Apprentice Kimura, who was aboard for several of her best races, replaces the sidelined Sutherland. EVENT HORIZON raced at least five-wide all the way before finishing just two and a half lengths back in seventh when stretching out to a route in her latest. AWESOMEENDSWITHME posted a 34-1 upset when graduating for $12.5K Oct. 5. Use her underneath in the exotics, along with NADELEINE.

FIFTH RACE

SWEET BRYNLIE worked quickly from the gate last Sunday, and could take some catching in this OS maiden special. The daughter of Old Forester is a full-sister to the stakes-winning sprinter Weekend Romance. ECHO IN THE FOREST got second when debuting July 28, but then struggled in her next two outings. She could be rejuvenated following a trainer change and a layoff. VESPERANZA has worked well, but her sired has produced just 2% first-out winners at 2. FINE LADY may want to go farther than three-quarters. Use her in the lower rungs of the exotics, along with ROYAL WEDDING.

SIXTH RACE

CORKER is plunging from $25K to the lower maiden ranks for her third start off a $12.5K claim. She can handle either local surface, and doesn’t have much to beat in this $10K sprint. D’S BENEFACTION prevailed in a multi-horse speed duel before fading to third under the 10-pound bug Tromey in a recent $8K seller. BEL TEMPO is turning back from a route off a claim, and could be along to pick up some of the pieces. Use BELLA NINA in the tri and super.

SEVENTH RACE

SELLING OUT flattened out late when fourth after a wide/stalking trip in a $20K route last Friday. He’s

meeting much easier in this seven-furlong tilt for $10K conditioned types, and has a realistic chance to win his fifth race of the year. Note that he won on short rest at Presque Isle in September. DAVKA raced wide in a stalking position before beating $10K NW2 rivals over an inside-favoring track Oct. 7. PERLARANA wasn’t far back in sixth last time behind the classy Rocket Plan and Tinker Ring, who came back to crush $6.25K stock with a 74 Beyer.

EIGHTH RACE

KRPAN was a handful in the paddock last time before finishing second in a key $32K contest, which came on the heels of a troubled fifth in the restricted Simcoe Stakes. With blinkers off, the new gelding is eligible to improve dramatically off the McKnight claim in this $32K maiden event. NEWS FLASH and HONDURAS are both dropping from open maiden special weight company to where they probably belong. A VIKING MORNING is by a high-percentage first-out sire.

NINTH RACE

GUITAR GEORGE was victorious from off a slow pace at this $25K level in his penultimate outing, under current pilot Da Silva. He never fired most recently in a tough optional starter, but could get back on track in the third start of his form cycle.

SECOND STREET closed four-wide from off fast splits to best $20K claimers 16 days ago. FORESTER’S DESTINY lacked room along the inside before finishing a neck behind the top pick Oct. 3. KEEN GIZMO is descending to a new low.

TENTH RACE

GOLDEN BULLET is plunging from the maiden special ranks following a freshening, and should have these $16K maidens within his sights, if he’s anywhere near right. RAIDEN is also getting some big-time class relief following a layoff. Note that his best race came in the first start of his previous cycle, which was a third in a seven-furlong maiden special. TRUTH SERUM can rally for a slice of the pie, and GIANT PULPIT is worth a look on the turnback.
