BEST BET: RACE 7, COME ON GERRY

FIRST RACE

MOTHERWELL earned her diploma under a $40K tag here during the fall now plunges to more suitable level after being overmatched in all recent tries. Should appreciate the class relief. OUR CLOSURE goes for a straight tag for the first time, appears to be training well for this at Payson Park. BODIE’S VALENTINE was claimed off solid effort here in March, has been on the sidelines ever since but returns off series of works at PM for same tag. Must overcome the post.

SECOND RACE

MIDNIGHTONBROADWAY forced to break on extreme outside with short run to turn in latest while facing open company in each of his last pair. Back with conditioned claimers, expecting big improvement at what may be a reasonably price. HIGH FLYING GUY over-matched in first foray at the N3L level. Re-unites with Paco today. SOMEDREAMSCOMETRUE just 2 for 25 lifetime but does pick up lots of minor pieces. Tossing in underneath in gimmicks.

THIRD RACE

STARSHIP REINA succumbed late against grain of track bias on opening day. Might not look back here. PINK MAMA a win machine through much of her career but with only a single tally in her last five starts. Loves this track and distance. Main contender. ARCELOR was hung wide catching pretty good N1X company returning locally. Proved his mettle with this kind here last season.

FOURTH RACE

DAISY’S STORM strictly a default factor play here for dangerous connections. Would not have to be much to win at first asking with this group. SOUTHERN TODDY got bet hard, faded early debuting with same kind earlier this month. Dons shades, deserves another chance. PRINCESS DANIELA sheds blinkers after showing speed of her own at first asking. Another who could improve with a race under her belt.

FIFTH RACE

FIRST AND THREE the only multiple winner in this field and going turf to dirt today. Should appreciate the cut back from two turns to one as well as the inside draw.IMPRESS ME finished full of run with a last to first victory over wet track in CD finale. The $15K claimer perhaps better than it looks with four of the five horses who have run back out of the race having won their next starts. MOSCOW MINISTER won in similar fashion albeit for a $50K tag in his second start and another coming out of a very good race with the 3rd and 4th finishers having graduated at next asking.

SIXTH RACE

SHANGHAI DREAMS gets some significant class relief as well as a set of blinkers for local debut. Got beat just 3 lengths vs. $40K company in N Y finale. IRISH FIX caught the red hot Nagle barn and Precocious Peach when second best on the drop to today’s level, may not be facing that kind here. LITTLE NICOLE a beaten favorite in his latest after having best chances compromised by a slow start. Expecting much better with a cleaner beginning.

SEVENTH RACE

COME ON GERRY, the day’s best, took a ton of money in his debut only to get used up iin an early speed duel last month at CD. Continues to train

forwardly. Kin to one SW and another graded stakes placed runner can make amends if able to get loose early as expected on the stretch around two turns. IDENTIFIER a bridesmaid in both previous starts now stretches out a bit further and likely a forward factor throughout from inside post. BUNDIBUNAN loses blinkers, draws the rail, has shown promise despite slow starts in both previous outings.

EIGHTH RACE

ICESPIRE upset as odds on choice in U.S. debut, on sidelines ever since, but training like she’s ready for big things on the comeback trail. FERDINANDA strictly one to fear off a couple of good efforts this fall at Belmont Park. Winner of latest returned to finish 3rd in Winter Memories Stakes. SPICY NELLY exits the claiming crown, when posting career best Beyer, might grab one of the minor awards.

NINTH RACE

ZULU winlness in his last four but continues to hold form well off the claim, could be ready to get back on winning track with top effort in this spot. CONQUEST WINDYCITY wired softer bunch of open $50K claimers, posted big Beyer number last month at CD, must prove he can repeat the effort if not seeing the front as so readily vs. this better bunch. WEISSER wheels back quickly after futile try over wet track behind runaway winner World of Trouble at Tampa. Has had most of his success with state breds but good enough to merit respect at his best.

TENTH RACE

BLASPHEMY broke slow, raced wide, was not badly beaten in sneaky good looking race for same tag here on Dec. 2. In good form at the present time. Shaky call in wide open affair. JEGOS FIRE and SOMETHING BIRD a couple of non-winning sorts who figure right there once again at their best.

ELEVENTH RACE

MESA MADEIRA missed a length to 9-5 class dropping winner while continuing to show improvement for this tag. As good as any in nightcap with a trip from the rail. BALLY SQUALL back to the grass after showing improvement nd last time on CD main. Expecting another forward move for this tag. NARROWS BRIDGE finished just behind preferred choice last time, gets a rider switch to barn’s go to jockey today.
