BEST BET: RACE 6, OLDTIMERS VISION

FIRST RACE

BECOME AN INSIDER has some speed and there isn’t much pace in this race. Plus, Arrieta is very good at getting more speed from his runners. Added distance helps early position also. Previous mile tries are decent including a win at Fresno. Class drop is main selling point. PAVELSKI has speed and draws inside main pace foe. We like Stevens with front runners. Not sure why recent turf try wasn’t better as this guy got an early breather. Maybe, just maybe, dirt is just better for him. EYE OF THE HUNTER gets to save all the early ground. If the 3 and 4 were to hook up early then his chances improve dramatically. His most recent was better and he missed his Beyer top by only three points.

SECOND RACE

A CROOKED TALE is by a 0 for 2 debut sire. Her dam went 15-3-6-4 and earned a nice 134K. Lone sib to this first time starter is 18-4-4-2 and earned 96K. Works are well spaced and for a barn that is a solid 20% with their maiden claimers. MIA MO gets a big jockey switch to the leading rider in Arrieta. This filly already has speed so expect Arrieta to help with her stamina. A good inside post that isn’t the rail to round out the appeal. WARRENS ROLLING DICE is the fresh face from SoCal. The Brinson barn is 0 for 6 with new runners. This filly did show speed two back. It is nice to see two local works. An early tote check is warranted.

THIRD RACE

SERBIAN SYCLONE draws the attack post, likes this distance, goes third off the layoff, is feeling great, and has tactical speed. We can do no more for this favorite. SATELLITE STORM caught a non fast surface in his last two starts and maybe that hurt. This post is no help. The good news is that he likes this distance and goes second time Scott Stevens. ALPINE LUCK has won 14 times with half of those coming on this dirt. He still has his front speed. Maybe the short layoff sharpens said speed and gets him an early breather today.
