FOURTH RACE

-

GAME STAR is bred to like the grass as his 327 grass Tomlinson can attest too. His last start on the green has fallen off current PP’s and we’re betting he is better now. Current form is sharp. The Ramgeet barn is a very nice 20% with their route runners. This is dam’s first foal so no help there. Distance breeding is good. If a good price, then we are willing to take a shot that this horse will like two turns on the sod. KATZUMOTO is the absolute one to beat. We liked his recent turf debut and his grass breeding is rock solid. He raced above his conditions in his most recent. THRASHER just won on this sod. Now he goes third off the layoff and draws inside. GO YOUR OWN WAY is by a 4% debut turf sire. His dam was un-raced. Lone sib never tried the weeds.

FIFTH RACE

MR. WIGGLE exits a key race where 2 of 8 returned to win with figs of 49 and 61. Another two finished second with figs of 54 and 50. This gelding is feeling good and is versatile. We love this post as there isn’t much pace in this race and this gelding is going to press whomever tries for the front end. Lack of works is obviously not a problem. LIL BIT OF THUNDER likes this dirt, keeps the leading rider, has tactical speed, and has never missed the board at this distance. TALE OF BEAUCETTE looks even better if you toss that six furlong try three back as being too far. He wants to pass runners so today’s race flow doesn’t help. If this race had more pace then we would have picked this gelding on top.

SIXTH RACE

SO LONG SAILOR has some back class. We actually liked his most recent as we think the turf is not his best surface. We say it is a dirt mile. That try two back was quite nice. This barn is 2 for 5 turf to dirt. We applaud the recent work. Race flow is great and this horse gets to save all the early ground. HOT BOBBY is another turf to dirt runner who might be better on the dirt. We liked that dirt mile only two back. JONNY’S CHOICE has speed and goes for Diodoro. Could FATS DOMINUS be a pace problem...yep. Last race came back key when 2 of 4 returned to win with figs of 74 and 58.

SEVENTH RACE

TOO AWESOME is by a 6% debut turf sire. His dam went 2-0-0-0 on the green. Three sibs failed to win on the grass but two hit the board. Turf Tomlinson is a solid 300. This gelding has had his problems as this is only his fifth start but he still won his debut going a mile at Laurel with a 53 Beyer all as a 2YO. He had trouble in his return but since it was an elongated sprint we say he simply needed it. He has worked since and figures a huge price. SPIRIT MISSION got a 69 Beyer when last seen on the turf and it came at Del Mar four back. His last race was poor but it still came back key when 2 of 7 returned to win with Beyers of 77 and 79. A tote check is in order for this Diodoro runner. BLAKE’S LUCKY STAR ran OK last out and it was only his second start on the turf. He is bred to like the green. The blinkers come OFF today.

EIGHTH RACE

GOLDEN SCEPTOR is by a 8% debut sire. His dam went 26-4-4-3 and earned 137K (won 2YO debut). Both sibs are multiple winners that earned 49K and 224K. Works are perfect. We know that Valerie Lund is 0 for 18 with her first time starters but we really like this colt’s breeding and works so maybe that trainer stat helps the price. EDDYSHAK has multiple sibs that beat winners. He showed speed in both starts to date and returns to six furlongs today. MAXUM did try special weights at Santa Anita in his debut. He was buried on the rail and of course broke 7th of 8. Works are fine and he faces tons easier. TAPIT AT MIDNIGHT is by a new sire. His dam went 3-0-0-0. Lone sib is 2-0-0-1 for 1K. TODO ES TORO is by a 6% debut sire. His dam went 6-1-1-2 for 7K and this is her first foal. WARM LAKE DUDE is by a 12% debut sire. His dam went 20-3-5-4 for 41K and this is her first foal. TACTFUL is by a 0 for 15 debut sire. His dam went 39-610-3 for 233K. All 3 sibs won with 2 having beat winners (8K and 53K).
