ANALYSIS

FIRST RACE

UNSEEN ANGELS was along for second behind a stablemate when dropping to the basement in her latest. She’s moving up a notch off the claim, and is a standout Beyer-wise. PHIL’S GLORY is eligible to run big on the turnback from a route to a suitable distance, in her second try off a $10K claim. LIGHT MY PATH hasn’t run seven-eighths in a while, and it’s a distance over which she has a solid record. A hot Salles picks up the mount.

SECOND RACE

VIATURE is from the first crop of millionaire Tapiture, who’s 6 for 21 (nearly 29%) with first-timers. His stakes-placed dam produced the maiden special winner Via Ann. WINDCHILL ZAR finished up the track after stalking the pace behind the future stakes winner Mr. Hustle in his opener. The half-brother to G3 stakes-winning sprinter Shakopee Town is adding blinkers. RED STORM RISEN worked on dirt and Tapeta at Fair Hill in Maryland for esteemed trainer Motion, who has weak numbers with firsters.

THIRD RACE

FORESTER’S FORTUNE bolted in both of outings, including when he probably should have been second in the open Victoria Stakes. He’s meeting Ontario-breds in this 5 1/2-furlong stakes, and could give the favored KEEP ON TRUCKIN a run for his money if he gets his act together. The latter romped at first asking by nearly 12 lengths with an 80 Beyer. Wilson takes over from Da Silva, who’s sticking with the Casse-trained MEYER, who graduated second-time out over a modest group with a 68 Beyer.

FOURTH RACE

ARNIE THE KING’s last subpar showing, in an offthe-turf tilt at Fort Erie, is a toss. He was previously a prominent fourth vs. $25K NW2 stock here on the main turf, and is descending to a new low in this $15K NW2 dash on the inner. RAPID BEAT was herded out at the break before dueling for the lead and then weakening last time on the Tapeta. He’s eligible to improve off the McKnight claim in his first turf try. SERENGETI CAT landed on the edges in both of his grass starts against much tougher last fall.

FIFTH RACE

SANITY saved ground on the turn before closing wide for third in her latest, from which the runnerup exited to finish second in the G2 Royal North. She’s tagged again here for $62.5K off the claim by trainer who won an allowance immediately off the claim in the spring. VEIL forced a moderate pace before fading to fifth in the Royal North, in her debut off a $62.5K claim. Stakes-placed ISLAND REWARD is a wild card in her first try for McKnight, who has solid stats with new shooters.

SIXTH RACE

THE GOOD WITCH ran second to the future stakes winner Owlette at first asking May 3. After two months off, she had a very wide trip when sixth in the My Dear Stakes. Five-eighths on the inner turf should be suitable for the daughter of 11% turf sire Tale of the Cat. RIVER OF PEARLS has worked well and extensively, but the daughter of the late Pioneerof the Nile is bred to run long. BEARAKONTIE is from the first crop of BC Mile winner Karakontie, who’s 2 for 7 with first-timers and 2 for 5 with turf progeny. Her stakes-placed dam hasn’t produced a grass winner.

SEVENTH RACE

Gotta love Casse cutbacks, and WINGS OF DAWN fits the bill in this wide open event. Throw out her fade job in the G2 Mother Goose on the dirt

at Belmont. She was an impressive N1X winner here the time before around two turns on the Tapeta. Maryland-based LA FEVE is a wild card in her first non-turf start. She’s worked regularly on the Tapeta at Fair Hill for trainer Graham Motion, whose stakes shippers are often live. CIURI is stepping up off a restricted stakes score in the Lady Angela, and could be the dominant speed. FAT N BITTER ran lights-out off the claim when taking an N1X with an 85 Beyer. Use her on the bottom of vertical wagers, along with SAV.

EIGHTH RACE

BELLE DANSEUSE has run two solid races against her own sex since ending up fifth against the boys for $20K in June. Her tactical speed should come in handy in this one-mile route on the main turf. WESTLODGE INTRIGUE hasn’t won in an eternity, but she’s been knocking on the door and should be closing effectively for a live barn. SILVER SIDNEY comes off a flat fourth behind the top two picks, in a $25K claimer that contained three next-out winners.

NINTH RACE

ROARING FORTIES rallied for second after getting away slowly in his seven-furlong opener on the Tapeta. A subsequent grass start wasn’t as good, and he’s back on the Tapeta here going seven furlongs after working a rapid half-mile. TIKAL broke awkwardly before closing to just miss at first asking in a six-furlong maiden special. IN MEMORY OF FLOYD rallied five-wide to lose by a neck vs. easier OS/$40K rivals when adding Lasix second-time out.

TENTH RACE

FOREST AT DAWN faded to third after dueling up front for the second straight time in a $25K Tapeta dash June 30. The daughter of Old Forester is the first foal from a turf winner, and her speed might be more effective on the grass in this $10K sprint. CLASSIC BEAUTY is plunging from maiden special company off a break, while turning back off a fade job in a Tapeta route. DYNAMIC SOLUTION is strongly bred for the grass, top and bottom. Use SHISHKA in the tri and super.
