BEST BET: RACE 1, OVERLYAPPEALING

FIRST RACE

OVERLYAPPEALING moves back to two turns for the opener and his best finish at the current meet came at the configuration. He might get a nice tracking trip off the rail horse. SUPER HANDY MAN debuted last out at the age of 5 and ran a big second, at this two-turn trip ,to earn what ranks as this field’s best last-race Beyer Figure. He is a logical choice back, with perhaps the main concern the widest draw. this time around. AYE AFIRM DAT debuted at the age of 6 back in June. He has reason to move forward here, in his second route attempt.

SECOND RACE

YALISHA has been well-flattered since her win last out. The runner-up from that race came back to win a conditioned allowance at EvD with a Beyer Figure of 70 , the third-place finisher, an optional $17.5K claimer at LaD with a Beyer of 74, and the sixthplace finisher, Sucre, a $5K conditioned claimer, at EvD, with a Beyer of 61. FLEET HALO moves back to the main track and she’s stakes-placed on dirt. On a pedigree point, she’s a full sister to Say Charlie, a stakes winner of $266K. ALL ABOUT CLARA is a stakes-placed runner and a full sister to stakes winner Brooke’s a Bookin ($139K). This one is back at Louisiana Downs - where she’s 3-for-5 - following a third-place finish in an allowance sprint in Oklahoma. Like that the dam of ALL ABOUT CLARA was an eight-time winner. SEATTLE BREW is out of a stakes winner of $85K.

THIRD RACE

AMANDAS LIGHTENING has been right there in each of his career starts, beaten a head in his bow and a neck last out in his first start at LaD. Due. CAPONE’S LOFT debuts for a stallion who is getting 17 percent juvenile debut wnners. This one’s placed dam has produced four winners from six foals to race, according to available produce records. REACH THE CIRCLE is by a Breeders’ Cup Sprint winner who shows no juvenile debut winners from a very limited sample. This ones dam was unraced and from five foals to race has produced two winners, according to available produce records. Bred speed on speed, and really

looking forward to seeing a son of the young stallion Secret Circle. REINSURE is from a stakeswinning mare who ran out $141K.

FOURTH RACE

ANGEL D’ORO has the speed to hold her position from the rail. She’s also something of a fresh horse as this marks her first out since May. LADY DIAMONDBACK is a winner of two of her last three starts and she owns the field’s best last-race Beyer Speed Figure. The one to beat. QUICK RAE RAE has tactical speed and a post that might give Lozada options.

FIFTH RACE

HONDURAS PRIDE makes a meaningful class move here, going from the maiden allowance ranks back to the maiden claiming ranks, site of her best finishes at the meet. SOCO UNBRIDLED draws a wide gate, but her speed figures to serve her well from the post. She was favored against similar last out at LaD. STARS INCLUDED tried both two turns and turf for the first time last out and popped a career-high Beyer Speed Figure. She would seem to have reason to move forward in this, her second route attempt.

SIXTH RACE

HORACE CHARLES moves back to the statebred ranks following a pair of competitive races against open foes. He also is shortening up a tad to the distance of his last win and he’s adding blinkers. PRIMETIME TIZ cleared his N2L condition last out when facing open foes and now moves back into the statebred ranks. He owns the field’s best last-race Beyer Figure. LEAP BABY LEAP showed improved speed last out when clearing his N2L condition against statebreds.

SEVENTH RACE

HARD TRIER ran a big race on the cutback from two turns to five-eighths, beaten just a half-length for everything after closing from 10th. She could be even sharper here, in her second straight sprint start. HANGING LAKE has been right there in each of her last three starts, whether sprinting on dirt or turf. UNBRIDLED HARLAN gets back to the grass following a main track sprint that served as her first out since September 2016. She set the pace in a useful kind of comeback race and would seem poised to take another step forward, for both the out and the return to turf, where she has done her best work. SUGAR PLUM FAIRY is from a multiple stakes-winning mare who overall went 24-for-53 while earning $826K. SUGAR PLUM FAIRY is a half-sister to stakes winner Phat Man ($300K).
