BEST BET: RACE 3, MIDDLE OF FOREVER

FIRST RACE

D J’S FINALE did show some speed last out and now tries this level for the second time. The fact that Lozada gets a leg up is what we like best. Forget that turf start two back as he isn’t bred for the lawn. This colt draws nicely for this and figures a good price. SOUTHERN AIRE ran evenly in both starts to date and now drops in class. This barn is 20% with this type of class drop. LUCKY STREAKER gets back to a dirt sprint and that is best for now. He did get a 50 Beyer in his debut so there is some ability here. LOWER CRETACEOUS is by a 5% debut sire. His dam went 14-3-3-5 and earned 113K. All 4 sibs won while 3 beat winners. This colt is cross entered in a race on Monday going five furlongs on the turf ($12,500 maiden claimer).

SECOND RACE

WAR COUNT ran great when breaking his maiden only two back. He stumbled at the start in his most recent but recovered enough for the show dough. He gets some pace to chase today and seems to like this dirt. HARBOR KNIGHT broke 7th of 8 in his debut yet won anyway. He didn’t get a ton of play either when sent off at almost 7-1. He has worked three times since. The rail draw is a bit of bad luck. SEE CARLOS RUN just ran a better than it looks third when first on this dirt and at a tough distance. This gelding is a hard trier that wants to pass runners and figures a decent price.

THIRD RACE

MIDDLE OF FOREVER gets good race flow if everyone stays in. He has done all of winning on this sod. His form cycle hints at better and there is a jock switch to help shake things up. FOREST DUNG ONE is speed with more speed. He draws poorly as there is early zip to his inside and out. But what if he can stalk? Turf breeding is decent and he goes second time with Broberg. For the record, we think he guns. If this comes off then the playing field careens in his direction (5-3-2-0 on the wet). ANTARCTIC exits a key race where 2 of 3 returned to win with figs of 80 and 76. He has speed and the rail all on the class dip. MR LEXIS exits a key race where 2 of 8 returned to win with figs of 80 and 64.
