BEST BET: RACE 1, BIONDETTI’S CHOICE

FIRST RACE

BIONDETTI’S CHOICE put away a rival on the lead through fast fractions en route to a daylight score vs. NW2 rivals in her latest. The late bloomer could double up in this NW3 as the lone speed. NOTICE ME dropped a head decision in an identical spot after a lovely stalking trip five weeks ago. ALKELINE landed on the edges behind the latter in her last two outings, both under the bug Kimura.

SECOND RACE

MISSION SIX graduated going five-eighths on the infield turf course two back at Fort Erie, and is coming off a sloppy second there vs. NW2 rivals. Salles could coax her home on top in this higher NW2 dash on the inner turf. MC CULLEY checked in second for the ninth time last out July 6, in a five-furlong Tapeta tilt. REBELLION’S DREAM is turning back to a suitable distance off a supbar showing over a mile on the main course.

THIRD RACE

BOLD STRIKE rallied wide for third among three next-out winners when going six furlongs in her local debut. The daughter of leading sire Tapit is the second foal from the G3-winning router Dixie Strike, who beat the boys in the Prince of Wales Stakes. Stakes-placed CURLIN’S VOYAGE, a daughter of the popular Curlin, is stretching out with a stamina-oriented pedigree on the sire’s side. BAYOU BELLE galloped out strongly after closing for second against easier in her six-furlong opener.

FOURTH RACE

FRANKIE BARONE failed to stay 10 furlongs last time in an N1X. He’s worked well since, and is better suited to this one-mile test for NW2 OS/$40K stock. CASH DIVIDEND wasn’t beaten all that far most recently when fifth after saving ground in the second leg of the Woodbine Turf Endurance Series. PRECIOUS BADGE brings good inner turf form to this main course event, and could hit the ticket.

FIFTH RACE

RED RETURN narrowly lost a speed duel with MONEY MATTERS when debuting in a 5 1/2-furlong maiden dash Aug. 24. The latter is more experienced, so the former figures to have more upside, and could prevail in this longer sprint. HIGHRISEINTHEPEG saved ground over an outside-biased track after breaking awkwardly en route to finishing a distant fifth at first asking in an open maiden special.

SIXTH RACE

BURNING MAN could be the next shipper from Fair Hill in Maryland to win here, even though she’s moving up in price off a charging third in a key $25K maiden route at Laurel. TRACKING GOLD is descending to an inviting spot after the son of Animal Kingdom was a beaten favorite in his last two outings vs. open maiden special opposition. TEN CARAT DADDY is also getting some class relief, and PERSONAL JOURNEY has been on the improve against easier.

SEVENTH RACE

FINAL RHAPSODY weakened late to finish second to a more experienced rival after carving out the fractions at first asking in a one-mile maiden special on the main turf. He had worked nicely on the Tapeta heading into his debut, and is bred to run long on the dam’s side. CADET CONNELLY

ships in from Presque Isle off a prominent second in a 1 1/16-mile turf stakes at Colonial. MINE THAT

STAR, by 13% 2yo debut sire Pioneerof the Nile, is a half-brother to 50-1 Kentucky Derby winner Mine that Bird, Canada’s champion male 2yo in 2008.

EIGHTH RACE

CHIRICAHUA SIGNAL won his season opener sprinting on the main turf, before a third behind Bold Rally and Badjeros Boy in a good $25K mile on the inner turf, and is coming off another third at this level on the Tapeta. WHO’S GOT IT is eligible to make most of the running, but the rail position in lane 1 has been unkind to speed. FLORIDA WON, who never fired at 70-1 last time in the G3 Seagram Cup, is back at the level at which he scored while getting claimed in July.

NINTH RACE

SHE’S THE BERRIES won her comeback in an open allowance in May, before a surprisingly flat effort in the G3 Trillium. She got away slowly before closing wide from last to just miss most recently in her first inner turf excursion, and could be back in top form. A mile and a sixteenth on the Tapeta has been her preferred trip. LIFT UP was a hanging second in back-to-back Tapeta stakes last fall, and is exiting a turf stakes victory at Mountaineer. Leading stakes rider Husbands appears to have chosen her over the top pick, who gets an able replacement in Da Silva. MONTE CRISTA, a grass expert, has worked extensively on the Tapeta at Fair Hill for a Maryland trainer whose shippers are usually live.

TENTH RACE

SILENT JET went five-wide on both turns (no exaggeration) in his subpar showing on the Tapeta July 21. The versatile 4yo was previously in solid form, and will shed some weight here with the capable bug Fukumoto taking over. DEEP FREEZE led most of the way when a game second with a career high 86 Beyer in his second try off a $20K claim Aug. 11. TALE OF VIENNA blossomed in his last three races under Salles, and could join the fray.

ELEVENTH RACE

CARDIFF HALL is shedding the blinkers off a closing third in a slow-paced sprint, and has another furlong to work with this time. FAHRENHEIT drifted out in the stretch when second for the fifth time while dropping to this level Aug. 21. SECRET PATH is going on Lasix, and LUCKY STREET is coming off an improved run.
