BEST BET: RACE 4, I’M D’CAT FIRST RACE

BROOKLYN BABY adds a full furlong and that is going to help her theft chances (for novice handicappers it seems counterintuitive but isn’t, trust us). She cleared off and got an early breather in her last two starts but faltered both times. That’s actually good as it is going to help today’s price. She has worked three times since her most recent and drops in class. TRISTAN’S GOLD is the most logical runner in here but we are unsure of value. She broke dead last from the rail in her debut but then recovered nicely to be right there with a furlong to go. Class drop and Lozada up is noted. STREETTALKINHOTTIE goes second time this dirt and is the best of the rest. CLEVER BELLE exits a key race where 2 of 2 returned to win with Beyer speed figures of 61 and 36.

SECOND RACE

YOHEARME is now a gelding but better than that is his upcoming great trip. He isn’t bred to like the grass but still ran well last out when trying the green for the first time. He fits class-wise and Lozada goes second time this gelding. GOLDEN DROSSEL is another that can pass horses but this gelding will be a much better price than our top pick (10-1 on the morning line). His most recent was a Beyer top even though he tired visibly late in that seven panel affair. DAPPER DAN MAN is by an 0 for 29 debut sire. His dam went 34-6-7-4 and earned 135K. Four of five sibs won and all four beat winners. Here is the part that we really like: two multiple win sibs are full siblings. GOLDEN CHOATE is by a 0 for 2 debut sire (0 for 6 with all starters). His dam went 12-1-1-1 for 13K and this is her first foal to race.

THIRD RACE

ACADIAN DRIFTWOOD drops in class and gets good race flow. She has won half of her local starts. What if 6 1/2 furlongs is too far for her? What if allowance foes are too tough for her? She won the last time she saw restricted claimers like these. JADED ROSE is the outside speed. Yet to hit the board on this dirt though. New barn is 14% off the claim. LUCKY THIEF is part of the entry

and they are the chalk. We think COUNCIL RULES declares out as she looks too good for these and would probably have gotten claimed. That leaves LUCKY THIEF who figures a nice stalking trip for team Broberg. This barn is 30% with their repeating winners. Can this horse ship in from Prairie Meadows and bring her A game?

FOURTH RACE

I’M D’CAT, our best bet of the day, wants to pass horses and gets great race flow. He is just a solid turf horse that goes third out on this lawn. His most recent was a Beyer top. KING ZIPPY has some tactical speed so he will have to avoid the temptation of being up close and personal in the early running from the rail. That closing trip three back would be ideal. Current form is fine and he gets to save all the early ground. CABO’S RUMOR should be a price, sheds the blinkers, can pass foes, and goes third off the break.

FIFTH RACE

BUTTON MUSHROOM is feeling good and likes this dirt. Race flow is fine and Domingues just gets the most out of this filly. She won from the rail only two back so no worries there. GAVINS LITTLE SIS just got a nice confidence boost. She has won 3 of 11 in her career. We even liked that turf try two back. This barn is 19% with their repeating winners. D’OR FILLE goes second time Lozada and he is 27% when riding for Foster. This mare is just better with a target so discount that front end try on the turf two back.

SIXTH RACE

EASTER INDY might be a new turf horse. We just like how this 7YO mare won last out. She goes second time with her new barn and the Cates team is very good on the grass and 20% with their repeating winners. This mare could easily be double digits on the tote. FEE FI FO FO is the other value horse. Her last two turf Beyers are 66 and 72. She has good speed and could find the front end today. This mare is bred to love the grass and we don’t think we have seen her top effort yet. MISS MERCKEN is feeling great. She has tactical speed so a good trip is more likely than not. Could she shadow the 9 and trip out well? Yup. Yet to try this sod is the X factor. SPARTANBURG is just good. She has won four straight for Broberg. We can’t fault anyone that likes her but at some point she is going to run a sub par one.

SEVENTH RACE

G NANNY doesn’t have to beat much as this race isn’t much. We don’t know why she didn’t show better speed last out. Taylor gets another shot to send this filly and she does draw the attack post. DIAL A PRINCESS was buried on the rail in her debut and of course she broke dead last. One of three sibs is a multiple winner in England. This barn just wins. MY MY MY has the best last race Beyer. Distance try two back was only OK. Can she put good races back to back? There is a reason why horses are at this level. PARIS TEXAS is a 7YO making her debut. Sire is 0 for 13 with debut runners. Her dam missed the board in her only start and this is her first foal to race. PAY LAND is by a 11% debut sire. Her dam missed the board in her only start. One of four sibs won. BLULU is by a 9% debut sire. Her dam was un-raced. Three of seven sibs won.
