BEST BET: RACE 6, PIPER’S LEGACY

FIRST RACE

CONGENIALITY prevailed in a front-end battle before giving way late in one of her better performances of the meet vs. $25K claimers Sept. 21. She should be a good fit in this optional starter. DREAMIN ON A CLOUD crushed $15K NW3 distaffers with a career high 70 Beyer when apprentice Kimura was aboard Sept. 20. BEAR KITTY is worth a look off the reclaim by trainer Michelle Love, who won a race with her with Husbands riding last fall.

SECOND RACE

BOKERMIN placed in each of his last two outings at this level, on different turf courses, with Salles in tow. He worked quickly the other day, and could be on the brink of a breakthrough. LOVE OF MINE is dropping from open maiden special company to the level at which he wound up second in his season opener on the main turf. A mile is a little short for the longtime maiden, but he could round out one of the exotics. KEEP YOUR WORD was along for third behind the top pick in a similar spot in his penultimate outing under Kimura.

THIRD RACE

ADELLE’S PRINCESS was declared a non-starter last time after a front-running second, during which her gate opened a split second early. The unbeaten winner of that event returned to capture a starter at Fort Erie, and “Adelle” could wire the boys in this $15K NW3 dash, with Kimura back in the saddle. MASSEY HALL was a stalking third behind stablemate “Adelle” in the aforementioned $25K conditioned contest. GASCONADE is shareless in eight starts on the year, but the closer could garner some of the scraps if he things go his way.

FOURTH RACE

MIZZONA is dropping a notch from $25K and changing surfaces to the grass, on which she finished a close second to a repeat winner two back in a quick optional starter. MADISON WAY beat out the top choice for third after getting softened up in a speed duel in yet another competitive performance Sept. 21. BELLA FIGURA is competing on short rest off a $15K claim and a frontrunning score in an optional starter.

FIFTH RACE

SAV disappointed as the 7-10 favorite last time when third on the grass. The stakes-placed sophomore could find the mark while adding blinkers for this NW3 Tapeta sprint. MACHO BOURBON went to the bench after a 19-length drubbing in a July 24 N1X going 10 furlongs on the grass. Tapeta is her favorite surface, and her trainer has solid numbers with similar comebackers. GOLDEN VISION toppled NW2 opposition in her latest, and SAILING BY is moving up off the Sid Attard claim.

SIXTH RACE

PIPER’S LEGACY is shortening up off back-to-back thirds going 1 1/16 miles on the inner turf. Seven and a half furlongs should be ideal for the stakesplaced daughter of Silent Name, who rarely runs a bad one. DYNATOWN closed for second in each of her last two excursions, in a pair of shorter sprints on different surfaces. Leading rider Da Silva takes over for leading trainer Casse, a highly successful combo. MY BORROWED ANGEL ran evenly to finish fourth behind the latter after remaining on her left lead in the stretch when trying the turf for the first time a month ago.

SEVENTH RACE

SAMURAI QUEEN attended a fast pace from a three-wide position before fading to fifth over an inside-biased track last time vs. NW2 OS/$40K opposition. She could wire this field of $15K NW2 distaffers, in her third try off a $25K claim. MAMITA’S CHICA is changing surfaces to the Tapeta after running hot and cold on the grass. DESCENTE is adding blinkers for the drop from $40K, and could track SAMURAI QUEEN en route to a high placing.
