How to play

- By Kenny Peck

LEG A (FAR HILLS 4th):

SNAP DECISION has won three straight, beating several of these same runners along the way. He’s the one to beat off that recent form but it’s worth noting that his most recent loss came four back, when MARKHAN defeated him rather handily. The latter was off the board when last seen but he had a very troubled trip there (2).

LEG B (FAR HILLS 5th):

Using all 11 in the New Jersey Hunt Cup, which is the lone Far Hills “flat” race in the sequence but may be the most wide open of the three. With lots of variables it seems wise to wrap it up and hope for something wild to juice up the sequence (11).

LEG C (FAR HILLS 6th):

SURPRISING SOUL comes off a front-running win in the Lonesome Glory and he figures prominently from the start once again today. JURY DUTY won this race as the 6/5 favorite last year but he figures to offer more value in this year’s edition of the Grand National. WICKLOW BRAVE eyes his fourth straight as he makes his U. S. debut (3).

LEG D (BEL 9th):

FIFTY FIVE and WAR CANOE were separated by just a half length in their last meeting, and both ran strong races, as they closed into very slow early splits. DREAM PASSAGE prompted quick early splits yet drew off nicely late when in against open company, and she’s a threat based on that effort and figure today against statebred stakes runners (3).

LEG E (BEL 10th):

Going to stand alone with NEWLY MINTED, a most impressive winner in her first start off the short rest, as she drew off easily despite pressing a quick early pace going 1 1/8 miles. She is undefeated in four dirt starts and she is versatile enough to lead or rate, which should give jockey Jose Lezcano some options as he looks to work out a trip from the rail (1).

THE PLAY:

1, 6 / ALL / 2, 4, 6 / 3, 4, 5 / 1 = 198 Combinations ($99 Ticket)
