BEST BET: RACE 2, AVIE’S PARADISE

FIRST RACE

LEXICAT gets the nod in the opener off a pair of runner-up finishes to start her career. She also is appealing for her natural speed. BEWITCHY owns the field’s best Beyer Speed Figure...and hits the entries just in time for Halloween. JUSTABOUTRIGHT cuts back to one turn and she’s run well sprinting in the past.

SECOND RACE

AVIE’S PARADISE ran a big race on the cutback from a mile to five-eighths last out, just missing while earning a career-high Beyer Speed Figure. It’s also the best last-race number in this spot. ROYAL C, who started her career in Southern California, ran a credible race on the move back to turf last out at Remington. TOTALLY NAKED has some turf sprint influences in her pedigree.

THIRD RACE

ADVERSE POSSESSION has fired competitive races with each of her career starts and for this out will be second Lasix. SHE’S EARTHBOUND has been knocking on the door and is due to graduate soon. FAVORITE SISTER shortens up some in distance in a move that seems to suit her at this point.

DUFFIELD and WILLY SPECIAL CATS hooked a runner last out in Fly to the Bank, who after winning his maiden over them came back to defeat open company stakes rivals in the $75K Kip Deville at Remington. DUFFIELD is appealing for his speed, while WILLY SPECIAL CATS draws yet another “extreme” post position, getting the rail in this spot. LET IT RIP cuts back to one turn and as such looking for him to be making his case in the later stages.

FIFTH RACE

O’L RED moves back to the main track after a strong run of races on turf and note he’s a multiple winner on dirt. A concern is speed horse faces a significant pace rival to his immediate outside, but he does have recency on that foe. RISE UP shortens up some in distance and figures to be a force through the lane. He’s a class runner as an earner of $1.2M. EUROBOND boasts a 7-for-10 record over the local main track. This marks his first start since last September.

SIXTH RACE

DIRECT DIAL, who is the reigning Texas-bred of the Year, exits a quick allowance won by Welder. He was cutting back from two turns for the race and could be sharper here, in his second straight sprint start. As for Welder, he’s the reigning Oklahoma-bred of the Year and after the meeting with DIRECT DIAL he returned to capture the $150K David M. Vance at Remington. ALPHA TO OMEGA upset the reigning Louisiana-bred of the Year last out in Monte Man. ALPHA TO OMEGA has speed and a post that gives Cabrera options. DROP OF GOLDEN SUN is back sprinting on dirt, where he is a multiple winner, after a big effort on the grass. DAME PLATA hooked a top class Minnesota-bred last out in Mr. Jagermeister.

SEVENTH RACE

HAWAIIAN TYPHOON is back in the overnight ranks after representing herself well in back-to-back stakes over the local course. She brings excellent speed to the table and has a chance to slip away in this spot. MITTIE GEORGE shortens up some in distance and she was right there the last time she raced at a trip similar to this one. MACHO ORB looks like a stretch threat.

EIGHTH RACE

A FAST BROAD showed good speed in her debut and for the runner-up finish earned what ranks as this field’s best last-race Beyer Figure. SALACIOUSACUSATION

exits a key maiden race, with the winner coming back in her next start to account for the E.L. Gaylord Memorial at Remington. PRETORIA cuts back to one turn after showing speed around two, and that can be an effective move with a horse. She also adds blinkers.

NINTH RACE

ONOMATOPOEIA returns to dirt and cuts back to one turn and his maiden win came sprinting on the main track. DADDY’S GONE is a consistent sort, while OFFICER SID could be sharper here, in his second straight sprint start. Another of interest is CHARGIN TEXAN.
