BEST BET: RACE 2, WINDI’S MOMENT

FIRST RACE

WILLINLILVILLIAN beat very little two back but still won easily and perhaps she has turned the corner. In her first race versus winners, she tried two turns on the turf and that was a very tough spot. She popped and stopped but maybe, just maybe, that races helps today’s stamina. She doesn’t need the lead to win this. MIKA THE MISTRESS is the one to beat off recent good start. Those were much tougher two back. Our main knock is that Metz/Stevens is a combo we can’t seem to get right. When we pick on top... they lose... yet when we disregard... they win. DAKOTA ROSE looks like a new animal since leaving Emerald. A nice win last out but this barn is 0 for 18 when trying to win two races in a row.

SECOND RACE

WINDI’S MOMENT is by a 11% debut turf sire. Her dam went 5-1-1-2 on the grass and earned 63K. One of three sibs won on the grass including full brother Bailouttheminister who is 5-1-1-1 on the green while banking 60K (won turf debut). Another sib finished second in their only turf start (also a full bother). Current form is sharp and this horse is bred to love the grass and routing. TOMORROW’S

MINE did finish second in a turf race so far back that it has fallen off her current past perfrormance lines yet she got a 55 Beyer which is only a point below her top. We know she can get the distance if anything. BEEJAYSBAR is by a 7% debut turf sire. Her dam never tried the green. Three of six sibs won on the green with another hitting the board. HIT’N TIME is by a 4% debut turf sire. Her dam went 4-0-1-0 on the green and earned 2K. This is her first foal to try the green. MISS N WILDCAT is by a 6% debut turf sire. Her dam was un-raced. Lone grass sib missed the board in its only grass start.

THIRD RACE

HEAT SCORE is cross entered in a starter allowance race around two turns on the turf on Monday. We picked him second in there at a price. This is much easier. New barn is 3 for 8 off the claim. UNITED WE STAND goes second time this dirt and

gets a more experienced rider. It is always nice to see a work between starts. DRAYMAGIC has some speed and likes this dirt at 5-1-2-2. Second time with Cruz can’t hurt and he is riding better of late (he won 4 races on Saturday). SPARKLING STARR exits a key race where 2 of 5 returned to win with figs of 44 and 12. AWESOME AIN’T EASY exits a key race where 3 of 5 returned to win with Beyers of 44, 61, and 47.

FOURTH RACE

VICTORY ICE gets class relief today. How tough was that recent race? Two of four have already returned to win and with figs of 57 and 46. Race flow is only OK but this mare wins with a clean trip. B QUICK B GONE often fires when returning off a layoff. She got a 55 Beyer when she returned four back while winning. She finished 2nd and 3rd in her other two return tries. We would like to see more than one listed work but on the other hand the layoff isn’t that long. SLEIGH RIDE drops in class and loves this dirt. That recent race was so tough that this mare was sent off at 36-1. Lack of front speed hurts a bit as does rail draw in a sprint.

FIFTH RACE

MY CRAFTY GAL is the value. When last seen on this turf, this filly went wire to wire and won at odds of almost 57-1. She can find the front end with a good break and early encouragement. OCEAN DREAM ran OK on the Cby lawn but then improved last out when facing easier. OR maybe she just likes this sod better. Can she put top races tries together? TRAPPIZA is 2 for 2 on this lawn and goes for the leading barn. She should win this race but...but...but the price figures just too chalky for us and Diodoro has cooled off late as he often does at this time of the meet.

SIXTH RACE

OF COURSE IT IS has some speed and this race doesn’t have much pace. The last time she got an early breather she won (2 back). She has been stuck on the rail in her last two starts so today’s 5 hole is just better. SUPAH SISTA ran OK off the layoff and perhaps she can take a step forward in this spot. She has won on this dirt before. I AINT NO SAINT broke slowly in her most recent so there is your excuse. A good barn calls the shots. Mckenzie King gets a leg up and she is 38% when riding for Eikleberry.

SEVENTH RACE

TOTALITY drops in class and should be more acclimated to here. What if this gelding just didn’t like

Hastings Park up in Canada? His last start before shipping there was at Oaklawn where this gelding beat restricted claimers with an 83 Beyer speed figure. THE GREAT LEBOWSKI gets good race flow as we spy three with speed in here. This gelding gets to save all the early ground. Kato gets a leg up and he has already won a race at this meet (at 75-1). COUNT HU just lost as the favorite when caught up in a speed duel. The main knock is that the same speed horse is back in here (the 5). This gelding has stalked before and does go for Diodoro.

EIGHTH RACE

HUEY should be a big price. His sire gets 17% debut turf winners. His dam missed the board in her only turf start. Lone grass sib is 2-0-0-0 on the green. This horse has a turf Tomlinson of 346 so that and a big price is why we are forced to pick him on top. GOTTA GET LUCKY is in good form, draws inside, has good turf breeding, and keeps Hernandez. CEDAR RAPIDS is feeling OK and doesn’t face a whole lot. SILENT PARADISE is by a 4% debut turf sire. His dam went 1-0-0-0 on the green and this is her first foal to try the weeds.
