FIRST RACE

BOOBY TRAP won his lone one-turn route when dropped in class to break his maiden then came right back to win again in his next start with an improved figure; has faced better in his three NY starts, including that last one when wired by his entrymate. VINTAGE HOLLYWOOD shipped in off the claim last month and faced a much better field of allowance horses without factoring; class drop makes since as he switches to the Maker barn and he has figures from California that suggest he may be tough in this spot. BEACH ACCESS received a perfect ride from an outside post to get over to the strong inside paths, before taking over on the rail to score a mild upset over course and distance earlier this year; improved his figure in his next start then stepped up in class and raced over slop and turf prior to the layoff; returns as a new gelding while dropping back to the right level.

SECOND RACE

SORRENTINA LEMON looked good winning her debut at the turn of the year while giving the impression that she had more to give and she returned from the layoff to handle a solid field of allowance rivals while sitting a nice trip; has plenty of upside for a hot trainer and has shown nice versatility in her first two starts. WAR CANOE a hard-hitting older horse who likes Aqueduct turf and she has been in career form since being claimed over the summer; ran well in both recent NY-bred stakes but Fifty Five is simply too good for her. REVERSETHEDECISION was a promising 3yo for top connections but she had trouble getting a 2019 campaign going; was never a threat to the talented Sweet Bye and Bye off the layoff but she was game to fight back for 2nd at the end.

THIRD RACE

WATER WHITE debuted in a tough Saratoga MSW and wound up spending a lot of time on a dead rail after being bumped at the start;stretched out to a mile for her second start and ran an excellent race while close to a fast pace, before settling for second-best to Maedean, who returned to win the Tempted in her next start. PERSISTO debuted around two turns at Monmouth and contested the pace before finishing second to the talented Fiftyshays Ofgreen; cuts back to a one-turn mile with speed from the rail. MRS. S has been very well backed in both starts to date but has had to settle for second-best both times, most recently when wired by a firster getting control of a modest pace; too early to give up on but she needs to get faster in a hurry.

FOURTH RACE

FLOSS DANCER tried too tough of a spot in her first NY start after arriving in form but she ran well in each of her next two starts over this track, including that easy win over a wet track; got in too tough in her next start then faced better on turf over the summer; drops for her return to Aqueduct following some time off. DIRTY BIRD won two of her final three starts for Englehart, all of them over a mile on this track, then went to the sidelines; returned over this distance for Linda Rice and just failed to last after contesting the pace; tough in here if improving in his second start back. G. T. SONIA ran better than it looks when turned back to sprint on dirt back in May then won her next main track start at Saratoga with a career-best figure; drops back down in class after having a bit of early trouble two back and then facing better last time.

FIFTH RACE

DELTA GAMMA was running races earlier this year for Linda Rice that would give her a big look in here and she returned from the layoff for her new trainer last time to set/contest a solid pace for the level, before weakening late; likely to be a fair price in here as she makes her second start back and second at this level. ITS A FORD finished 2nd in a pair of slow races to begin her career in Ohio; stretched out on turf and dirt in her next three starts to no avail, then cut back at Keeneland last time and flattened out after getting a look at the leaders in the stretch; may just be in the right spot here as she goes off the

claim for Atras. GRAY WITCH took money forst time out at this level and set the pace over a sloppy track, before proving to be no match for longshot winner Wailin Josie and getting outfinished; can have another chance over fast dirt and it’s worth noting that Wailn Josie did come right back to win again at an even bigger price.

SIXTH RACE

GIACOSA is by an excellent turf sire in Tizway and out of a mare who won the first two starts of her career, both on turf; debuts for a barn off to a very good start at the meet and she is a full-sister to three fillies who all race for these connections and who are all winners on turf. PANDAMOM by the versatile stallion Uncle Mo and out of the stakeswinning turf mare Akilina, whose best foal to date is $665k earner Governor Malibu (0-2 on turf in his career but with an 86 Beyer top on the surface); Clement 3 for 3 at the meet with first time starters on turf at 15:1, 7:1 and 7:1 odds. DASH DOT DOT debuted for Brad Cox (22 for his last 83 with 2yo first time starters on turf, 27%, $2.31 ROI); filly by new sire Normandy Invasion (0-7 with his turf starters to date and off to an 0-38 start overall) is a half-sister to Dot Matrix, who also races for these connections and is a nine-time winner on the grass with over $450k in earnings.

SEVENTH RACE

ALABAMA BOUND faced claiming company on turf once last year and rallied to just get up over this distance; has been lightly-raced as a 6yo but she ran well when dropped back down in class two back and getting into traffic in the stretch, then got wired in a faster race last time; good fit here if she can pull the right trip. SIERRA ALEONE a new stablemate of ALABAMA BOUND’s returning from a long layoff to make her first start for Tom Bush; makes her return with a steep drop in class and is going to be tough in here if she is ready to fire right away. A DIXIE TWISTER holds no edge here but will likely be a fair price and is going to appreciate getting back to six furlongs after making her last two starts over seven; all of her wins have come at Belmont but she is 5 for 6 over this trip on turf in her career.

EIGHTH RACE

CONCERNED had all the best of it when getting control of the pace in her career debut back in June but she always traveled comfortably in that race and got away easily in the stretch en route to a solid 81 Beyer; didn’t make her second start until last month and did well to get 3rd after stumbling at the start and winding up last early in a race that was dominated on the lead. KEPT TRUE a solid

NY-bred who is 3 for 2 in her career vs. non-stakes rivals; two of her wins have come when entered MTO in races that came off the grass but she defeated a good field two back while holding off seven-time winner Hay Field. ALISIO ran well in all three starts as a 2yo, culminating with that blowout win in the mud in December with a 76 Beyer; has run well in all three starts so far this year without winning and enters here following pair-up 78 Beyer tops.

NINTH RACE

KREWE CHIEF will have to overcome post eight barring any scratches as he looks for his first win of 2019 but he has run well in all four turf starts this year and endured a tough wide trip when cut back to this distance at Saratoga two starts back; class drop makes sense as he is about to turf seven with an overall 3 for 34 record. ZAPPERINI also taking a big class drop for this while looking for his first win of the year; was no factor in a $100k stake at Laurel in his first start for Motion and he has been facing much better horses right along. LUCKY RAMSEY tried a dirt sprint off the claim now wheels back seven days later returning to the surface of all six career wins; came wide and couldn’t impact while finishing 4th behind a couple of these same rivals two back but his effort off the layoff in September was solid and would give him a look in here.

TENTH RACE

MY CANDY GIRL had her debut rained off at this level and was outrun from the start; can have a chance on this surface as she is by a sire that wins with about 16% of his turf runners out of a dam who was a winner on grass, and is a half-brother to Nuclear Option, a versatile 4yo who won his turf debut in a sprint earlier this year with an 89 Beyer. JEN’S BATTLE ran well while contesting a good pace in her turf debut vs MSW rivals at Saratoga then rated and finished a clear 3rd in her only other turf start, also vs, better horses; drops in to face maiden claimers on turf for the first time and she has speed. MISS GOLD MEDALIST debuts for an excellent first-out trainer and has some pedigree being by new sire Golden Ticket (by Speightstown and handled all three surfaces in his career) and a half to two turf winners from this dam.
