BEST BET: RACE 1, PIVEN

FIRST RACE

PIVEN is dropping to the price at which he rallied extremely wide to beat NW3 opposition with an 81 Beyer under Da Silva Aug. 31. This open event is tougher, but he has no shortage of speed to close at. PHANTOM RO stalked in second before beating NW3 stock last time with the aid of an inside bias in his local debut. MAS CHIKILIN is eligible to improve off the Jordan claim in his second Woodbine outing.

SECOND RACE

CRUMLIN NIGHT rallied wide from off fast fractions to win an identical event over an insidebiased track Nov. 1. He has lots of speed to chase again here under Da Silva. GIANT MINE closed outside from a trailing 12th to check in second behind the top pick that day. SEATTLE TREASURE is a wild card off a victory over $15K NW3 foes on the inner turf.

THIRD RACE

GUN SOCIETY finally put it all together Oct. 19, when taking an open maiden special going 1 1/16 miles on the inner turf. She’s since worked twice on the Tapeta in preparation for her first non-turf start, and could mow down the speed if she handles the surface. Multiple stakes winner OWLETTE is charting unknown territory in her first start beyond three-quarters. Trainer Wesley Ward has good stats with stretchouts, and this daughter of Frac Daddy is bred to go long on top and short on the bottom of her pedigree. SHE’S A DREAM inherited the lead before tiring in her first two-turn attempt in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes for Canadian-breds. She’s been working right along, and should be more effective while stalking the pace in this OS stakes.

FOURTH RACE

TWENTY TWENTY CREST is hard tog au ge after facing males in the final leg of the Woodbine Turf Endurance Series. The Court Vision mare is cheapening up big-time, and has some speed to chase in this $7.5K NW2 tilt on the Tapeta, over which she has a poor record. MAMITA’S CHICA began slowly before closing from off sleepy fractions for second when descending to this level Oct. 30. PEUT ETRE and MILLBANK MAGIC are prospects for the lower rungs of the exotics.

FIFTH RACE

MUSTN’T GRUMBLE cut loose up front before weakening to second in her six-furlong opener. She’s adding Lasix for this five-furlong dash, and her trainer has respectable numbers with maiden second-timers. SKY FACTOR was beaten in double digits in both of her outings on the grass in Kentucky, but is eligible to wake up with the addition of blinkers and Kimura. LOOKIN TO FLY closed belatedly for third behind the top choice when debuting in the aforementioned maiden special. Use her underneath in the gimmicks, along with the Maryland invader BELLS OF WAR.

SIXTH RACE

DRINK IN MY HAND raced wide over an insidefavoring track in his recent subpar showing in a six-furlong N1X. He was previously in fine form, and the closer is nicely protected in this sevenfurlong optional starter. SLIP KID wired similar last time with a fat 86 Beyer, and should be the dominant speed. SOUPER FLY OVER is back in action on short rest off a head score in a blanket finish in a five-furlong optional starter. ROCKET PLAN is

turning back to an appropriate distance with a hot Stein taking over.

SEVENTH RACE

ACT OF BOB faded late to third after carving out the fractions at first asking in an identical spot. The son of the good young speed sire Souper Speedy should be dangerous with that tightener under his girth. ANIMAL KRACKERS has worked quickly since his Oct. 12 fade job in tougher open maiden special company. Da Silva takes over on the drop, and he’s 2 for 12 at the meet for trainer Sid Attard. CHAIRMAN FIFTYFIVE has worked decently, and COSMIC EXPERIENCE is bred to be precocious.

EIGHTH RACE

DANCE ALONG DEDE beat two next-out winners when toppling $25K maidens on the inner turf under Stein Oct. 9. The daughter of Bodemeister could be a good fit in this $15K NW2 route on the Tapeta, on which she deserves another chance. AMI’S LINK was hard-ridden for third when favored while descending to this level Oct. 30. Note that Da Silva broke her maiden. DESCENTE is ditching the blinkers off a flat third, and BENEVIDA was an overdue maiden breaker in her latest.

NINTH RACE

CHAIRMAN’S VENOM closed belatedly for third on a speed-favoring strip in her 6 1/2-furlong debut, which was taken off the turf. That race should set her up nicely for this seven-furlong maiden special.

GOOD TO ME has worked okay and is reasonably placed by leading trainer Casse. CEFALO is turning back off a pace-pressing second traveling a mile and 70 yards.

TENTH RACE

FACT CHECKING came from fifth last time to just miss in a five-furlong inner turf dash, from which the third-place finisher exited to romp in another N1X. The three-time winner on Tapeta could mow down all the speed with the unretired Stein taking over from the retired Campbell, who had inherited the mount from the retired Moreno. ISHIYAYA stalked the pace along the inside en route to a distant third in a fast N1X Oct. 20. FRESH PRINCESS made a wide bid entering the stretch before tiring in her recent comeback, a race she seemingly needed.

ELEVENTH RACE

DANCING QUIETLY was a prominent second last out in his first NW3 attempt. This third start off a one-year-layoff could be a peak one for the son of leading Canadian sire Silent Name. HIDDEN ARTIFACT rode a speed bias in a front-running score over NW2 opposition in his latest, and probably isn’t out of his league with these. GRIMGRINNIN’ GHOST lacked room before closing along a golden rail to finish a lapped-on fourth at a notch higher last Saturday. WE TAKE CHECKS is a wild card after running hot and cold on the grass.
