BEST BET: RACE 6, SPY RING

FIRST RACE

Assuming the turf course will be open for business on Thursday. MISS MY MACHO getting significant class relief returning to what looks like her favorite surface. Ran a couple of decent ones vs. better over Spa green this summer. Toss last inner course try due to early troubles. Should fit well with this band. HONESTA dropped too far back, lost ground, finished with some interest dropping for this tag last time. One more chance at the level. NELLIE BELLE like preferred choice dropping out of races vs. much better. Getting blinkers. Expecting some improvement today.

SECOND RACE

WHAT’S TO BLAME well spotted off well graded maiden win. Right back. SCRIBE back to the turf where he ran bang up effort two back. Repeat try makes him one to fear. COMBINATION exits super key race when holding own despite wide trip. Key question here the ability to handle turf. Sire just 3 for 64 with offspring making turf debuts.

THIRD RACE

TOUGH N BUFF was checked a couple of times then swung very wide around the turn, was still within striking distance to mid-stretch showing some improvement at second asking. Third should be the charm with Saez up. MILKAH in new hands since railing as odds on choice for second consecutive start at GPW. Last chance dropping another notch and returning to local soil. VICKYTHEBEST comes off good effort crosstown in off the turf dash. May be improving enough now to make presence felt with another forward move.

FOURTH RACE

BIG TREASURE made premature middle run, faded late while again showing well vs. this kind on turf. Switches pilots, might finally be ready to sustain bid with patient handling. HE’S SUPER LUCKY continues to improve from Beyer standpoint, especially since switching to this surface. Another getting benefit of switch to hot rider. BRIAN’S AVENUE dueled, faded late debuting in main track sprint. Been away, stretches out, tries grass, Could get wake up call if able to clear off early from Fayez.

FIFTH RACE

HARTLING another from this barn getting some major class relief seeking winning spot today. May have found it against these bottom level types. MAGNITUDE TEN adds blinkers exiting improved showing vs. similar. Equipment change just might be the difference maker this one needs to escape maiden ranks. BOSS WIFE finished 3rd of ten in promising debut albeit in a very slow race at seven furlongs. Should benefit from the outing at that distance.

SIXTH RACE

SPY RING, the day’s best, over-matched against males in her last start but back with own kind for barn heating up of late. Should catch plenty of pace to run at late with this lineup. JO JO AIR freshened since turning in game effort in defeat against stakes foes this spring in Maryland. Training well for return. GUACAMOLE also showing well in the a.m. coming off extended vacation. Figures prominently throughout from inside gate.

SEVENTH RACE

LI’L MEATBALL in dangerous hands off the claim after coming off long layoff to win for this tag at GPW. Gets shaky nod to stalk, run down the speedy SWAGGER who could have his hands full early with Jersey Joe B. DR HARLAN capable of picking up a lot of pieces if this one ties up late turning back to this distance off series of mile tries.

EIGHTH RACE

LA CHAUFFEUR back to the lawn, a surface she’s handled well in the past. Finished in front of Barbarola who came back off the effort to win a $35K maiden claimer on grass. GAMBLA set pressured pace, weakened late first off the claim for present connections, may ultimately prove one to catch dropping another notch today. SHE FLED THE SCENE a check getting sort who should grab at least a piece of the gimmicks.

NINTH RACE

EARLY ENTRY was tailing off form wise when given a break late this spring, has not missed a beat in the a.m. prepping for return. Looks loose on easy lead with this group. VINCERO turned back to this distance to beat softer state bred foes last time at GPW but has run some big numbers over local strip in the past. One to fear. HARD BELLE rarely runs a poor one. Should be along for share.

TENTH RACE

GUNSLINGER gets tepid nod in wide open finale. Shortens up to a sprint after showing good speed in all recent tries around two turns. Could trip out well behind the quicker ones in this field, kick in late on the turn back. WHAT’S INSIDE ran well while over-matched in both previous tries over the surface. Like his chances back on the green for this tag. PURE LUCK adds blinkers, can come running late for a piece at a square price.
