BEST BET: RACE 8, BUYMEABOND

FIRST RACE

EXECUTIVE DECREE didn’t get a clean trip last out so there is that. New barn is 1 for 4 off the claim. This gelding gets off the rail where he was stuck in his last two starts. We like that connections find a spot where this horse can’t be claimed. Added half furlong is fine with us. BOBBY BABY tried stakes foes only two back. Yet to try an elongated sprint is a small knock. The Davis barn is 20% going route to sprint. DOC CURLIN always gets a ton of play but draws poorest today. First time this distance is anther X factor. Current form is fine and you get Diodoro in your corner for those who believe.

SECOND RACE

WITHIN THE LAW exits a key race where 2 of 5 returned to win with figs of 83 and 84. The class drop is easy to see here but we like the half furlong cut back even more. We don’t see Scott Stevens ride all that often for this barn but he is still 1 for 2 with them. This barn is 26% with their allowance runners. TIZ WILD WIND escapes stakes foes and has won on this dirt before. Route to sprint is only a 12% move for this barn though. Second time with Garcia up can only help. NAT GIO ran OK last out even though it was two turns something that might not be her favorite. She has never missed the exacta going six furlongs. That was a Beyer top only two back. TAKE A LEAP exits a key race where 2 of 6 returned to win with figs of 77 and 76.

THIRD RACE

BUBBA BAY was right there with a furlong to go in his most recent and then simply tired a bit. This gelding has improved his Beyer speed figure in five straight races. We like that connections want 6 1/2 furlongs right back. Trainer stats are good across the board. SCRAPPY DEVILLE drops in class and maybe that alone will be enough. This barn is 20% going route to sprint. Jock switch to Velazquez is noted. MIGHTY MICK won nicely two back and then tried tougher in his most recent where he ran evenly. He goes third off the layoff today and drops in class. He has won at this distance before. I B EZ is interesting if looking for a superfecta runner.

FOURTH RACE

AMERS broke last in her local debut previously but still won by a nose. She draws better today. What if she improves second time on this dirt? This barn is 23% with horses that won their last race. TIME FOR KISSES gets back to sprinting and that is what she does best. Stevens rode two back and returns today. The Davis barn is 20% route to sprint and show a flat bet profit. SETTLE DOWN EILEEN always gets a ton of play but has lost three of her last four and did so at 1 to 10 in all three. She gets an extra half furlong to work with today. Distance tab is 8-3-4-0.

FIFTH RACE

ITS A BOY beat zero home off the layoff but that race was pulled from the grass. This gelding is bred to love the green. The Brinson barn is 2 for 5 going dirt to turf. This gelding doesn’t get much pace to chase but we think the class drop and A game are plenty good enough. TERYN IT UP goes second time this grass and drops in class. Velazquez gets a leg up and he is 23% for this barn. Trainer Clay Brinson is 28% on the grass and 31% in route races. COOL HAND LUCAS did little in his last two starts but he was returning off a long layoff. He is a proven winner on this sod and should be a good price. MUNNYCANTBUYMELOVE is by a 10% debut turf sire. His dam was un-raced. Two sibs never tried the sod. DIECI is by a 10% debut turf sire. His dam went 2-0-0-0 on the green. Lone sib never tried the grass. MONUMENTAL SEVEN exits a key race where 3 of 7 returned to win with Beyers of 69, 69, and 70.

SIXTH RACE

SON OF ELEANOR is a win machine. Starter foes in last three races were all very good. His most recent was a Beyer top. This barn is 35% with horses that won their last race. We think Guglielmino is riding very well right now. THE COMMON MAN has won half of his local starts. He has good speed but can stalk a tad. He draws well for this and Cruz knows this gelding well. JAVU is often a good price. That was a Beyer top only two back. He is the outside speed today and that worked well two back.

SEVENTH RACE

LICORICE DROP POPS ran evenly in his most recent and that was coming off a layoff. Now he puts races together without a layoff. This gelding adds a full furlong today and we think he will love it. He even draws well. ROCKING CHIEFTAIN has some speed and draws outside. He hit the board in both starts at this distance. He was simply unlucky to lose his most recent when denied by a nose. Still, he does seem to have a penchant for less. WILT was stuck between foes two back and was facing first time winners. Perhaps he was too close to a fast pace last out. That 55 Beyer when breaking his maiden would fit here.

EIGHTH RACE

There is a lot of pace in this race. BUYMEABOND goes for Diodoro and should get the best trip. He has hit the exacta on this sod in 9 for 14 starts. This 10YO continues to bring home the bacon. Recent works are perfect. SIX POINT RACK is stuck outside but there ends the knocks. This gelding got a 83 Beyer only three back and did so on this sod. He can pass runners and Stevens knows him well. FLOWER BEACH has some speed but can stalk easily enough. He has missed the exacta on this sod only once in nine starts. Current form is solid but he will have to break in a new jockey today as Stevens sticks with outside runner.
