BEST BET: RACE 3, LANSE MITAN

FIRST RACE

BYCHANCE one of two in here for Mejia stable along with Fried Plantaine although latter should not be allowed to start having no published works on resume’ since last start on Jan. 5 at press time. Former takes significant class drop and looks loose as can be on the lead. Should not look back. KATARA PASS ran well enough two back, this distance, despite getting pinched at break and altering course a furlong out to loom one to fear. R NINJA J K the big question mark debuting off some decent main track works. Ability to handle grass the key question. Perhaps tote will offer some answers.

SECOND RACE

WICKED SOLUTION missed a nose to 4-5 S. Joseph drop down Interest in her most recent start while forced to rally off a relatively slow pace. Should be along this time if able to repeat that effort. VICKYTHEBEST set contested and pretty quick pace when back to the grass for just the second time now drops in company and might not look back if able to clear off at this level. TEACHER DRAMA can be along for a minor share.

THIRD RACE

LANSE MITAN, the day’s best, drops to bottom for first time and looks like the speed of the speed if away running from his outside post for Saez. dueled, proved no match for first timer Sea Lover last month at Tampa, the latter flattering effort when returning to win again earlier this week. STORM THE BRIDGE turned in sharp effort launching career for this tag, dueled, faded late trying the turf two weeks later. Back to more suitable spot now. THE BIG JOKER has shown speed in the a.m. for present connections off the bench, getting full makeover added bonkers and having been gelded since last start in December of 2017. Must respect for this tag.

FOURTH RACE

PEACOCK KITTEN a beaten favorite as even money choice last out while finishing just behind next out $20K winner Zippy in the process. Facing far softer, might not give it up this time around. THE MIGHTY JUDGE checked, came away slow at the break from tough post, did well to finish fourth of a dozen and just in front of preferred choice when pair met vs. tougher on 5/26. One to beat with Irad getting the call. KING LEONARDO offered up at a square price after encountered ton of trouble nearing and into stretch in latest try. Using under at big balloons.

FIFTH RACE

CHASING ANNA and BASQUIAT two of five first time starters in this one, both among the many legitimate win candidates in good looking MSW dash. Former flashed big speed in latest gate drill to complete preparations for debut that began on farm in Ocala. BASQUIAT has had plenty of miles under his belt at Payson but did show promise when first sighted last summer at the Spa. J/T combo needs no introductions. FUGITIVE obviously one to fear off improved showing stretching to a mile from tough post last time. Draws inside, ready for best yet making third start of his form cycle. AShiham ran well debuting for McLaughlin barn, seems to be training nicely since switching to Pletcher stable earlier this spring. By Tapit out of a multiple graded SW mare. Very logical.

SIXTH RACE

Enough rain in forecast to toss out MALIBEAUTY as the most likely winner if this one switches to the main. Was an easier winner than final margin would indicate taking debut at Tampa. BYE BYE NICKY in potent hands since finally earning diploma earlier this winter at Tampa. Has the speed to lead these a merry chase for Saez. AWSUM ROAR finished behind a couple of next out winners when third under these same conditions first off the claim for Dobles. Good fit if able to avoid getting hung out to dry from outside post.

SEVENTH RACE

SHAMROCKET swung out past middle of racetrack, finished well rallying off slow pace facing open company in most recent outing. Back with state breds today. VENEZUELAN HUG steps up off the claim and a bullet turf work at PM for new connections. Major player with expected improvement. FREEDOM FORCE a question mark switching to turf although American Pharoah progeny winning at solid 20 per cent clip first on grass. Should be forwardly placed throughout.

EIGHTH RACE

NOBLE THOUGHT in top form when put away for the winter but did beat this same caliber last fall at CD and working forwardly enough for return to earn shaky nod in wide open affair. LEGIT showed major talent earlier in his career but obviously a question mark making just second start since May of 2018. Late striding sort strictly one to beat but will need some help up front at a short price. SCARS ARE COOL a first time gelding showing up for the tag just like preferred choice. Must avoid early conflict with Max K O.

NINTH RACE

RELENTLESS DANCER dropping out of a pair of graded stakes and Ky. Derby preps. Was beaten just 2 1/4 lengths for second money by top Derby prospect Sole Volante at Tampa, may just be a question of his ability to stay the route. DR POST lightly raced but obviously very talented coming off well graded maiden score. Been holding own in the a.m. with Gouvernor Morris but like preferred choice still must prove mettle at a mile and one sixteenth. ATTACHMENT RATE a much improved sort since stretching to a mile and obviously a major player but yet to try two turns.

TENTH RACE

VEGAS KITTEN could not stay 12 furlongs but back to more suitable distance second time off the claim for team Maker. Figures on or with pace throughout. NEW YEAR hard to fault in present form. Had recent win flattered when runner-up won N2L for $16K. Can’t ignore. STOCK TRADE a pretty consistent sort last season well spotted for this tag if ready for best off the layoff.

ELEVENTH RACE

YORKTON has switched hands since latest when a solid second behind Vekoma stretching back to seven furlongs several weeks earlier. May prove one to catch. RARE FORM over-matched in last couple after showing well vs. G3 company in the Hooper. Training forwardly for return to allowance ranks. HEMBREE makes rare appearance on main track but with plenty of back class and always works well on the dirt. Could be overlooked some due to surface change.

TWELFTH RACE

AWESOME ENOUGH a new face to a pretty weak looking category with plenty of works on his resume’ prepping for bow. Might be good enough to handle this group at first asking. HONOR THIS back to the main, ran well enough with much better two back to loom best of experienced ones. ANNUALIZED back to dirt, down to bottom, lures Irad, plenty to like albeit at a very short price.
