BEST BET: RACE 8, ARCHUMYBABY

FIRST RACE

For those who don’t know how this works, picks for today’s card were turned in 72 hours in advance at press time on Monday so obviously the status of turf course and main track were major question marks at that time. If going on the grass as scheduled, the opener a real head scratcher with plenty of options including MARIES MELODY who gets ample class relief while re-uniting with Zayas after being over-matched last time. Figures forwardly placed throughout. FIELD BET takes even bigger class plunge returning from nearly a year on the sidelines. has the speed to lead these merry chase if ready for top effort and not needing one off the bench while showing limited work tab on resume’. MIDNIGHT MARVEL another dropping to weakest level yet. Likely better than anything shown to date.

SECOND RACE

PALADIO gets the call launching career off series of improving works while getting Irad in the saddle for his debut. MAMBA ON THREE has had plenty of works under his belt, should be fit and ready at first asking. CATCHING FISH broke slow, never factored in debut but seems like he could be improved with addition of blinkers.

THIRD RACE

AERODYNAMIC sheds the shades, drops a notch in company while continuing to hold her form well. Worked well without blinkers for this. Top billing if this one goes as scheduled on grass. HENNY’S TREASURE a non-winning sort but usually in the mix at this level. ZODIAC PRINCESS usually the one to catch with this kind.

FOURTH RACE

VICTORY CRUSADE had little chance after breaking last from extreme outside post in career bow. Drops to bottom for new connections off the claim and lures Ortiz for the occasion. Expecting major improvement. AUBURN another in new hands since latest and works say she too should prove formidible at this level. QUEEN LETIZIA logical off her last when second best vs. same kind despite slow start but perhaps a bit vulnerable at a short price here. Miranda Sofia showed some improvement in recent a.m. trial. Might be worth tossing in for share at big balloons.

FIFTH RACE

BASELINE DRIVE sporting formidable J/T connections for career bow which comes against mediocre looking lineup. Will have to overcome tough post. Dam was three for four in her racing career on grass. AIZU a good second last time behind even money Sister Otoole with 3rd finisher Jeana’s Gem flattering the effort a bit by returning to win her next start. AMADORA run down late by Key Biscayne stretch around two turns for first time, the latter coming back to beat winners over the weekend. Might have edge should this one move to the main.

SIXTH RACE

KAREN’S COVE beat this same kind last month with 2nd and 3rd place finishers coming back to win their next starts. Need only repeat the effort to take another at a short price. HE IZ GONE back for a tag for first time in quite a while, looks like best of rest. MUSTANG CAT yet to win a race on dirt but has shown speed, promise on the main, may prove one to catch.

SEVENTH RACE

GENGHIS entered main track only off the claim for team Maker. Won last vs. lesser despite unlucky start. PRINCE KHOZAN ran credibly on dirt last time but best suited if this one goes as scheduled on turf. Held own with older, $30K N2L’s the last time on sod. REBELDE showing improved speed since equipped with blinkers. Expecting best yet today, turf or dirt.

ARCHUMYBABY, the day’s best, makes local bow and first start for Joseph barn. Veteran mare has a dozen wins on her resume’, can make it 13 if at her best over local surface. May ultimately have to run down stable mate MIDTOWN ROSE who might have bogged down a bit in deeper going on rail when second best against tougher allowance company last time. SKY CHASER hard to fault in her current form.

NINTH RACE

WILD ABOUT THIS held own in a race that produced pair of next out winners on 3/29 and note the quick turf work at PM prepping for return. Gets slight nod if this one stays on the lawn. NO NO NINA comes off her best yet when rallying to be second despite troubled start plunging to bottom three weeks earlier. One to fear. DANCINGWITHJIMMIEB a non-winning sort but capable of holding on for a minor slice.
