BEST BET: RACE 7, AWESOME EMMIT

FIRST RACE

MY VOW IS COURAGE has some sneaky speed and stretches-out today. We love the jock choice of Arrieta as he is one of the best gate jocks on the grounds. This gelding has some solid distance breeding. This barn is 19% sprint to route. Form cycle hints at better as this horse goes third off the layoff. The price will entice. FRIDLEY is speed and draws the rail so you know he will gun. Class drop makes sense and he is now a gelding. The one to beat, right? WHISKY FOR BREAKFAST did try routing in his debut so there is that. This horse cost 150K yet debuted for 10K. It is nice to see Eikleberry up as he wins at 30% for this barn. HOIST YOUR GLASS exits a key race where 2 of 5 returned to win with figs of 66 and 48 (another finished 2nd with a 56 figure).

SECOND RACE

COOL EDGE drops in class but for this barn that is a no big deal. The blinkers go ON and we like that more than anything as team Diodoro is 31% with first time blinkers. Outside post and Arrieta up are two more positives. Recent work was sharp. ROCK THE PULP IT has improved his Beyer in his last three starts. He has some speed and lures Loveberry who he is 21% when riding for this barn and they show a flat bet profit. BLACKS FERRY ROAD was better in his last two starts before the layoff. He escapes Oaklawn foes where he caught a non fast track in three of four starts. We would like to see more local works though.

THIRD RACE

DIVA DE KELA just ran a Beyer top and now goes third off the layoff. The inside two are very quick and that might set the table for this stalker. In her most recent, this filly beat 11 foes at Will Rogers where the racing was much better due to Covid. DEFEND THE ROSE goes for a top barn, draws inside, has speed, and likes this dirt. Main problem sits one gate over. Works are well spaced and Arrieta gets a leg up. RENTAL POOL has some speed but we don’t think she is as quick as the inside two so maybe, just maybe, she defaults into a nice stalking trip. The other Mac Robertson runner will be a much better price than her barn mate.

FOURTH RACE

OUTRUN THE POSSE is just better on the turf something he returns to today. He is a horse for course that is 8-1 on the morning lines. Recent dirt tries are actually solid and this gelding does have some speed. NO RICHIE is a proven turf sprinter that goes for a top shelf barn in Broberg. Current form is fine and the layoff is short. Penchant for less is a small knock. We like this inside post for upcoming closing trip. KNIGHT DISRUPTOR got Beyers of 62 and 63 in his last two turf sprints. Recent Fonner tries are quite good. He has some speed but can pass runners if needed. UNCLE GOYLE is by a 1 for 23 debut turf sire. His dam went 6-0-1-1 and earned 4K on the grass. Two sibs have yet to try the green.

FIFTH RACE

MACHO RAPIDO ran his best race in his third start and it was versus stakes foes. There is a good chance that he is more mature now and therefore faster. We like that May 30th work which was 2nd best of 72. It was also a longer work of four furlongs. Race flow is solid as the 2, 9, and 10 all have speed. DIVIDED BY PIE tried two turns on the turf in his first three starts and one of them was OK. His turf breeding is poor so maybe he didn’t like that surface. He tries a dirt sprint for the first time today. The Lund barn is 21% turf to dirt. The price should entice. AZUSA ST. has speed, draws inside, and goes for Mr. Robertson. He got some play in his debut. Arrieta up is another plus. STONE COLD HEART is by a 5% debut sire. His dam went 24-2-2-7 and earned 47K. One of two sibs won (earned 43K). OTSEGO is by a 10% debut sire. His dam went 20-3-1-2 and earned 26K and this is her first foal.
