BEST BET: RACE 4, TOMMYTOSHORT

-

FIRST RACE

The card features an allowance sprint for fillies and mares that drew five-time winner Wishful Quality. In the opener, MISLED is entered for the main track only and would be a chief player if she starts as she comes off a pair of strong maiden allowance efforts. TRUE FRIEND was fourth to a quality sort last out in a quick maiden special weight at Oaklawn. SAILSINTHESUNSET has the speed to hold her position from the rail.

SECOND RACE

QUEEN’SREDBOY returns to the statebred ranks and his maiden score came against such foes. THREE DAY WEEKEND is another getting back with statebreds. PRESIDENT WITT does the same, after the start at Fonner Park in Nebraska.

THIRD RACE

POWER END starts his season for barn that wins at an above average rate with runners returning from layoffs of more than 180 days. JAGER ONTHE ROCKS is back on dirt and he put up his best career Beyer Speed Figure on the main track. END ZONE moves to dirt and in addition to strong pedigree support for the surface, he’s worked a near bullet over the local main track.

FOURTH RACE

TOMMYTOSHORT ran a credible race on the cutback from a mile to six furlongs last out and looking for him to be even sharper here, in his second straight sprint start. T C’S IMAGE split a field of steeper rivals last out at Lone Star. GRADYZ KAT is a class play as he is facing claiming rivals for the first time. The winner of the race he exits was to run back in a stakes here Sunday.

FIFTH RACE

LET’S GO ALAMO met older rivals for the first time last out and represented himself quite well, finishing second at this turf sprint trip at Lone Star. For the effort he owns what ranks as this field’s best last-race Beyer Speed Figure. RUN TO FAME is appealing for his natural speed and how well he’s taken to the turf sprint tilt. CAPT. ST. JACQUES shows a nice series of works for his career debut. He gets good pedigree support for the grass.

SIXTH RACE

WRITTEN PERMISSION, who wintered at Oaklawn, is appealing for his consistent nature and competitive Beyer Figures. BAYERN TO BE WILD ran well on the cutback from a mile to five and a half panels last out and could be even sharper here, in his second straight sprint start. PURE SPECULATION who had notable trouble last out, according to his running line - is back on dirt and he’s fired some strong races on the main track. More than capable.

SEVENTH RACE

PADDY O was third at this distance last out to earn what ranks as this field’s co-highest lastrace Beyer Figure. BALADERA has class appeal as one who has been facing steeper. She also draws an improved post over her most recent start. A J’S GRAND should be sharp for the move back to two turns - where she is a winner - off the sprint starts.

EIGHTH RACE

WISHFUL QUALITY is appealing as a five-time winner facing some less-experienced rivals. She could show the way here or track a couple of runners to her inside. AL SHAMKHAH was just edged by top choice last out and this one did not get the break. DULCE RIDE figures to be closer to the pace here, on the move from five-eighths to seven-eighths. She has experience on some of these as a two-time winner.
