BEST BET: RACE 12, FRONT LOADED

FIRST RACE

The 12-race card Saturday at Gulfstream Park includes a pair of first-level allowances for 3-yearolds and a maiden special weight for 2-year-olds. In the opener, VEER is appealing on class as she has seen steeper. She also is well-versed at two turns on turf and draws a useful kind of post. NERISSA must deal with the wide gate, but has the speed to get position into the first turn. FIELD BET gives up recency to these, but has seen steeper and exits a key race. The 11th-place finisher, Fuega, came back in her next start to win a $20K maiden claimer at LRC with a Beyer o 62 and the 12th-place finisher, Hilltop Harmony, a $16K maiden claimer at Cnl, with a Beyer of 49.

SECOND RACE

CONGRATS AGAIN is one of just a few in this maiden allowance for 2-year-olds with racing experience. He overcame trouble for second last time in a race that has since produced two nextout winners. The third-place finisher came back to win a maiden special weight at GP and so did the fourth-place finisher, Famous Gent, with the latter earning a Beyer Figure of 62. COBB is another with racing experience, having closed from well back for fourth in a four and a half furlong sprint last time. He did not get the break, according to his trouble line, and could be closer to the pace here for the experience of an out. His multiple stakesplaced dam won four races and she has produced a pair of 2-year-old winners and one of them is stakes-placed. LOVED GLOBALLY is a January foal by a stallion who is getting 15 percent juvenile debut winners and 18 percent 2-year-old winners overall. LOVED GLOBALLY’S dam has produced one winner from one foal to race, and that runner is 3-for-12 with earnings of $102K. GOLOVKIN is a half-brother to Grade 3 winner Off Duty ($402K).
