BEST BET: RACE 3, DYNAMITE KARMA

FIRST RACE

FIVE DAYS IN MAY was bumped at the break before checking in second behind an easy winner when coming off the shelf in a similar spot. The DiGiulio homebred should take some beating with Wenc back in the saddle. LA PAQUITA is adding blinkers off a fade job in her comeback in a firstlevel optional claimer. BOSSALINA is switching from turf/Tapeta while cutting back from a mile to a sprint for her second start of the season.

SECOND RACE

CAPE MIST is moving back out to a route off a nonthreatening effort in an optional starter. She’s getting some class relief, and second-leading rider Wilson is sticking with her. NOT ORBINARY rallied to the lead on the far turn en route to a daylight score in a recent NW3 tilt around two turns on the inner turf. GLIB MARYLIN ran her usual competitive race last time when third on the Fort Erie turf, and was claimed for $8K in the process.

THIRD RACE

DYNAMITE KARMA got away slowly and then made a bid from fourth on the far turn en route to ending up second on a speed-favoring track when returning from a break June 19. ICE BLUE began slowly, as usual, before finishing a well-beaten seventh of nine when coming off the bench against tougher. BLOCKBUSTER has just a half-mile breeze on his resume in terms of synthetic track experience, but he wouldn’t be much of a surprise with Husbands riding for Casse. GHOST ISLAND is another possibility.

FOURTH RACE

WARNING BELLE won last Saturday’s opener on the grass with a winter-raced runner from Turf Paradise who was turning back to a sprint, and this filly could duplicate that feat with Civaci retaining the mount. HEART RUSH has made a habit of filling out the exacta, regardless of the surface. Hernandez is 2 for 6 at the meet for Drexler, who’s been heating up. ROSIEJEWEL DANCER possesses some turf breeding, and might take a liking to the unfamiliar footing. ROSE RING has worked quickly for her first appearance in 11 months.

SIMPLY A ZOOMER dueled with the eventual runaway winner, Silent Causeway, before coming up empty in her debut. She’s cheapening up from $40K to $25K, in a race in which her speed should be more effective. RED QUEEN’S COURT was a chalky second after duking it out on the front end when returning from the sidelines in a shorter dash at this level. CEDAR VALLEY faded from an early stalking position before coming back on for third behind the latter in her encouraging comeback.

SIXTH RACE

FORESTER’S TURN earned the highest Beyer on the page (78) when beating NW3 OS/$40K opposition off a winter break June 11. He drew well on the outside, and could strike again in this N1X with Contreras inheriting the mount from Kimura, who has landed on one of the Casse runners. ALL INCLUSIVE wired $25K rivals with a 73 Beyer when tagged for the first time June 7. There’s not much other speed in this acid test, so he could go all the way again. LOOKINATAMIRACLE is dropping out of stakes company for his second start back. FINALIST should be along to pick up some of the pieces, in a race that’s a little short for him.

SEVENTH RACE

RANGE OF MOTION finished far up the course behind three next-out winners the only time he raced for $50K at Gulfstream. The son of More Than Ready is returning from the sidelines for his first start for trainer Kevin Attard, and brings improving works to this OS/$40K inner track tilt. DR. GREEN made up some ground on the outside over a speed-biased track when fourth at first asking on the Tapeta. His disappointing sire was a G2 turf stakes winner at Santa Anita. KEEP YOUR WORD has some positive inner turf experience, and his trainer has solid stats with +180 day comebackers.

EIGHTH RACE

WILD ABOUT BLUE shook loose up front before checking in second when adding Lasix in his muchimproved season opener vs. $10K maidens. The son of Afleet Alex has found a home in the lower ranks. HEAD KITTEN closed for second in a key $7.5K dash when plunging in value in his return. WAVE WARNING figures to wake up after working fast for a live barn, which has fared ok with its layoff runners at the meet. MANNY went three-wide over a railbiased track in his lone outing Dec. 8, when he was bet down to 3-1 before finishing far back.
