BEST BET: RACE 6, CHACHING BLING

FIRST RACE

Lone Star Park puts the Monday spotlight on 2-year-olds with a pair of maiden races. Temperatures could reach a high of 100 degrees, according to local forecasters. In the opener, DREAMMASTER makes his Lone Star debut after being based at Gulfstream. He comes off a runner-up finish in a turf route and earned what ranks as this field’s best last-race Beyer Figure. SECULAR STAGNATION owns the field’s best turf Beyer, earned in his debut last year at Saratoga. He’s returning to the turf for the first time since the start. As for the race he exits, the third-place finisher came back in his next out to take a maiden special weight at LS with a Beyer of 64 and the fifth-place finisher, Governale, another maiden allowance at LS, with a Beyer of 65. GLOBUS ran a strong race at this distance on turf last fall at Remington.

SECOND RACE

REASON TO SOAR is a class play as one who has seen steeper. He also draws a post that might give Vazquez options. THE RED DUDE could be closer to the pace here, on the move from five and a half furlongs to six panels. BOGEY was third against similar last out and is a logical choice back.

THIRD RACE

DUCHESS BUBBLES split the field in her debut and the race gives her an experience edge on these. She is by a stallion who is getting 14 percent 2-year-old winners. MOPSICLE debuts for a stallion who is getting 6 percent juvenile debut winners and 18 percent 2-year-old winners overall. MOPSICLE is the first foal from her dam, who was a winner at 2. INTO THE FIRE must deal with the rail post, but shows a nice series of works for her debut. She is by a stallion who is getting 15 percent juvenile debut winners and 18 percent 2-year-old winners overall. This one’s dam was a stakes winner of $138K. On a few other pedigree points, JULIO CHOICE is from a multiple stakes winning mare who earned $409K. MISTY SHACK is out of a stakes-winning mare who banked $285K. DIEM NOW is from a Grade2-winning mare who ran out $1.1M.

FOURTH RACE

ADONIS CREED moves back to the main track and he put up one of his best Beyer Speed Figures on dirt, when capturing a $10K claimer around two turns in November at Delta Downs. PROMISING SHOES is appealing from a class standpoint as he has been lining up against steeper. R FAST LIFE could get a nice tracking trip behind a few of these, including the rail-drawn ADONIS CREED.

FIFTH RACE

QUINN MURPHY seeks to turn the tables on FROZEN HANNAH and perhaps the bit of added real estate will serve her cause. FROZEN HANNAH is a winner at this trip and looks like the one to beat. LORAN HOLIDAY is back on turf and she put up one of her best Beyer Figures on the grass last season at Ellis Park. She’s a fresh face, as this marks her first start at Lone Star.

SIXTH RACE

CHACHING BLING figures to be strong through the stretch on the cutback from a mile to seveneighths. He also owns the field’s best last-race and career Beyer Figure. NIALL exits same race as top choice, finishing right behind that one in fourth. This one also cuts back to one turn and his halfsibling, Bling On the Music, was a multiple stakes winner at the configuration. TEXAS CROSSBOW has the speed to hold his position from the rail. He also has an age edge on top two as he is 4.

SEVENTH RACE

DANCIN ALL ALONE is back in the overnight ranks after hooking a bit of a bear last out in Always Inthe Munny. RUBY DOES SPARKLE cuts back to one turn and the last time she raced at the configuration she was second at this seven-eighths of a mile trip. She is a half-sister to Wonders of Hislove, a sprint stakes winner this meet at Lone Star. TEXAS MUSIC BOX is proven at this seven-eighths of a

mile trip, which can be a demanding race.

EIGHTH RACE

LADY LUTE was a credible third in her career debut last out and the race gives her an experience edge on most all of these. LADY LUTE is by a stallion who is getting 15 percent 2-year-old winners, while her dam was a winner at 2. BECCA’S BOUQUET is by a stallion who shows no juvenile debut winners from a limited sample, but is getting 14 percent 2-year-old winners. This one’s stakes-placed dam won 14 races and ran out $378K. Check out the near-bullet gate work over five-eighths June 29. WILLA SUE is a February foal by a stallion who is getting 15 percent juvenile debut winners and 17 percent 2-year-old winners overall. This one’s dam was a winner who banked $86K. On another pedigree point, SMILES BRAVE LADY is from a multiple stakes winner who earned $194K and who produced a stakes winner in Discreet Smile ($91K).

NINTH RACE

TIGERBEACH comes off a win over the local course and for the effort earned what ranks as one of this field’s best last-race Beyer Figures. CHANNEL WON hooked a significant winner last out when facing steeper and note that race went quite quick. CHANNEL WON boasts a strong record over the local course. EXCITING owns the field’s best lastrace Beyer Figure.
