BEST BET: RACE 5, DOT’S VISION

-

FIRST RACE

TOLD IT ALL wired $25K maidens in lane 3 on the inner course in his second race off the sidelines June 21. Even though the closer-friendly lane 1 is being used on the inner turf in this NW2 tilt, he could strike again with Christopher Husbands back in the tack. NATIVE PRINCE graduated by disqualification vs. OS/$40K maidens in his lone trip around these tight turns in October. ICE BLUE deserves another chance on the grass in the third start of his form cycle.

SECOND RACE

GHOST ISLAND weakened to third after carving out the fractions in his second race off the shelf against $15K stock two weeks ago. He’s meeting easier NW2 opposition here with leading rider Hernandez retaining the mount. CAUSE FOR ALARM is also dropping off a fading third going long vs. $15K NW2 claimers. DYNAMIC FORCE is moving out to a distance over which he’s questionable with a pair of sprint tighteners under his girth.

THIRD RACE

CANADIAN SECRET saved ground over an outsidebiased track when third in his improved second race off the bench July 2. Kimura retains the mount and was aboard for all of his best performances. With blinkers on, MISTER OAKLEY is dropping significantly from OS/$40K company to where he figures to be competitive. MAKE IT RAIN is by a pretty good debut sire, We Miss Artie, and his dam dropped four winners.

FOURTH RACE

CAPE NERO got away slowly before finishing on the edges when going long in his comeback. That should set him up nicely for this identical event, especially when you consider that he ran well second-time out last year. KID’S MISCHIEF is plunging to a new low while moving out to a distance over which he’s shareless. The son of leading sire Into Mischief could be a speed threat in his second start back. MIRIAM’S SKY recently won this condition, albeit with just a 52 Beyer,

when dismissed at 20-1 June 26. Use him underneath in the exotics, along with THEREALQUAFF.

FIFTH RACE

DOT’S VISION was just a nose away from winning both of his inner turf excursions going 7 1/2 furlongs last year. He was a prominent second in his comeback in an optional starter, and is meeting slightly easier in this $20K claimer. BEN LOMOND was also victorious over this course and distance last year. The consistent 6yo should be dangerous while dropping a notch in his second try off the Tiller claim. FOUR KNIGHTS and FLORIDA WON are two more entrants with some positive experience around these tight turns.

SIXTH RACE

MY SILENCER has been idle for a year, but the talented 4yo has been working right along for good layoff trainer Casse. His two previous fresh races on the Tapeta were a first-out score in the Frost King Stakes at 2 and an OS allowance win at 3. SILENCE BREAKERS is switching from turf to the Tapeta off an encouraging third in a fast race at this class. He could take some catching in his third start back. NEVAEH’S DREAM weakened to fourth after participating in a four-way front-end battle the last time he saw action Nov. 3.

SEVENTH RACE

STRATE REMARK dueled through fast fractions before tiring to third behind the win machine Constantino and Big League in a tough inner turf dash following a two-month break June 28. He could win the front-end battle and the war in this much easier $7.5K claimer. FRONT NINE faded to fourth behind the top pick after duking it out with him in the same optional starter, which was his first outing in nine months. His best races have been from off the pace. MAJESTIC SLEW is worth a long look off the Drexler claim, a 20% angle.

EIGHTH RACE

OPTIMYSTICAL disappointed in four straight races after his troubled second on debut last year. He’s dropping sharply to the lower ranks, and could make some noise at a price if able to duplicate his ‘19 opener. GIANT ATTRACTION disposed of another front-runner en route to ending up second in a big wake-up performance at this price secondtime out. BYEBYE BYEBYE placed in each of his last five excursions, on dirt and synthetics. Put him on the bottom of intra-race wagers, along with BLUE FORESTER.
