BEST BET: RACE 6, CARBON STRYKER

FIRST RACE

COMIC makes the move to turf for the opener. She is by a stallion who is getting 11 percent winners from his first-time turfers and 14 percent winners overall on the grass. This one’s dam made there starts on turf and placed in two of them. GRACELY exits a key race, with sixth-place finisher Gold Included returning in her next start to account for a $20K maiden claimer at LS with a Beyer of 59 and 10th-place finisher American Dream a maiden allowance at LaD, with a Beyer of 52. GRACELY is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Irish Jasper ($560K). GRAY ZONE was right there at this level and trip last time and is a logical choice back. POPPIN BOTTLES is from a stakes-winning mare who ran out $134K.

SECOND RACE

END ZONE has experience at this seven-eighths of a mile trip and the start came against steeper. STARZIP is back on dirt, site of his best Beyer Figure to date. TAPALIST has reason to move forward in his second out since February.

THIRD RACE

AMAZING RIDE is a new face to the market after launching her career in New York. She’s back on dirt here and note she put up her best Beyer Figure so far on the main track at Belmont. AMAZING RIDE is from a stakes-winning mare who also was Grade 1-placed. BETTER BIZ gives up recency to these, but owns some strong Beyer Figures and exits a key race. The winner came back in her next start to account for a conditioned allowance at Ellis with a Beyer of 80 and the runner-up, a maiden allowance at AP, with a Beyer of 75. LEMON ROSES appears to have stepped up her game since moving to two turns.

FOURTH RACE

TAINO HOUSE has speed and represented himself well against older rivals last out at Churchill. The draw here might give Vazquez options. K D STREET split the field in his debut last out and now moves to dirt and he gets pedigree support for the surface switch. KATAMA BAY figures to be strong through the lane on the cutback from two turns.

FIFTH RACE

GOLD SPEED GO split the field in his turf debut last out and note he drew the rail for the sprint that went quite quick. The draw here might be a better fit for runner who won his maiden out of the nine-hole sprinting at Remington. YOUNG PHILLIP, who has an age edge on top choice, makes his turf debut. His sire is getting 9 percent winners from his first-time turfers and 9 percent winners overall on the grass. This one was fourth last out in an off-the-turf race that has become a key race, with the winner coming back to take a $25K claimer at Ind with a Beyer of 75 and the fifth-place finisher, Royal Bertrando, an N1X at LS. SOURNOIS has moved forward with each of his starts at the meet and could be sitting on a peak race in his third out since March.

SIXTH RACE

CARBON STRYKER moves back to the maiden ranks after finishing third in a division of the Texas Stallion Stakes won by an undefeated runner in Island Sun. This one drew a tough post in gate 11 for that five-eighths of a mile tilt and also seems like one who will make good use of the bit of added ground he picks up in this spot. WINGS FOR ENO owns the field’s best career Beyer Figure, for his runner-up effort to Island Sun two back at Lone Star. STONE CAFE must once again deal with the rail draw, but like that his dam was a winner at 2 and that she also was stakes-placed at 2. This one adds blinkers. On a few pedigree points, HUNTSINGER is a half-brother to Galactica, who was a stakes winner at 2, and BLING’S BELLWETHER is a half-brother to Gee She Sparkles, another stakes winner at 2.

SEVENTH RACE

This looks like a highly competitive race on paper. KATS SECOND SILVER has speed and a post that

might give Arellano options. He also has seen steeper, owns the field’s best last-race Beyer Figure, and could get an ideal tracking trip off ALLIDOISDREAMOFYOU. The latter might be sitting on a peak race in his third out since February. R FAST

LIFE was third over a similar distance last time, while another of interest is KANSAS CITY ZIP.

EIGHTH RACE

MATROOH is an old class runner who has been known to fire fresh. As for the race he was third in last time, the winner came back to take an optional $10K claimer at CD with a Beyer of 84 and the fourth-place finisher, Pinson, a $16K claimer at CD, with a Beyer of 79. MATROOH makes a rare start on the grass in this spot, and he’s a winner on the green. VIEW MAGIC could be sitting on a peak race in his third out since March, while YOUVESAIDITALL might make good use of the added ground he picks up in this spot.

NINTH RACE

TEXAS CROSSBOW picks up some more ground here and there are reasons to believe he will make good use of the added real estate. He also draws off the fence this time around. EL CHOCOLATE was right there at this distance last time, and it can be a specialist’s kind of trip. WITT’S COCO ran a big second in his debut and is bred to be a runner as a half-brother to stakes winner Witt Stamp.
