SCOOBY
Trainer: Jerry Hollendorfer Last race: Aug. 2, 3rd
Finish: 3rd by 2 1/4
Beyer: 54 Making his debut against winners in Cal-bred stakes, this colt ran well. Not quick from gate, settled three wide, steady late rally. Would be tough against statebred maidens.

MONMOUTH SEANOW
Trainer: Antonio Arriaga Date: Aug. 1, 2nd
Finish: 3rd by 2
Beyer: 76 This was a strong effort for the show, as he was involved in a three-way battle and only weakened late, in fact showing some life even in midstretch. Can wire the right group if able to shake loose in the opening stages.
HIGH FIVE COTTON
Trainer: Jose Delgado Date: Aug. 1, 5th
Finish: 3rd by 7 1/4
Beyer: 64 A slow start left him with little chance to win this turf sprint, which was light on pace to begin with, but she showed surprising late interest to get the show and galloped out nicely. Could prove tough on turf after all.
