FIFTH RACE

-

DAYOUTOFTHEOFFICE didn’t make a ton of believers when winning her debut, despite working hard for that victory on a contested pace, but have to think she has gained some support exiting that comprehensive Schuylerville win with a solid 83 Beyer; see no reason why the mile would be an issue and expect her to be tough right back. CANTATA was no secret first time out at Saratoga and she settled that race quickly after taking up a nice tracking spot early; appears to have plenty of ability and is a dangerous horse for the top one to have to deal with in this spot. JOY’S ROCKET was only secondbest after making the lead in the Bolton Landing last time, a race from which all four fillies to run back so far have returned to win stakes races; has now proven to be effective on all three surfaces but has never raced beyond 5.5 furlongs.

SIXTH RACE

NEWBOMB debuted over a muddy, sealed track toward the end of the Saratoga meet and showed good speed in that spot to contest the pace, before succumbing late to a pair of talented runners from the Chad Brown barn; respect his speed and prefer his experience over the interesting firsters in this spot. ENOUGH NONSENSE breezed 10.1 earlier this year before being turned over to this trainer, who is more than capable with his 2yo first time starters in dirt sprints; breezed in company with Dixie’s Two Stents before leaving California and that colt just missed in his debut with a 78 Beyer, before trying a couple of Grade 1s recently to no avail. NOVA RAGS a half to several winners from this dam, including multiple Grade 2 winner Juanita; appears to be training forwardly into this and like that he blew out swiftly on 9/27.

SEVENTH RACE

CONNAGH’S QUAY a Juddmonte homebred by a sire still looking for this first North American winner - though it is hardly surprising that Flintshire hasn’t been particularly precocious - but from a dam whose first three foals are all multiple winners, including three-time turf route winner Tide of the Sea; work tab looks pretty serious with a pair of bullets on the way in. BIG EVEREST and STAND WITH MO both for Clement with suitable pedigrees. BIG EVEREST gets Rosario, which may be significant, while STAND WITH MO is a half to a pair of solid turf runners from this dam, including Grade 1 winner Nereid.
