SIXTH RACE

-

SNIPER SIS was much the best at better than 9-1 in the maiden score last time, drawing off with ease in an impressive score for the class level; doesn’t seem to meet an especially tough group for her first start against winners and she can repeat if she’s able to run back to that effort today. BIG BOSS LADY turns back from routes to a sprint for high-percentage trainer Jose Delgado and she figures to be rolling late given some help from the pacesetters; 2nd best in that last one, behind only the favorite, who controlled he pace on a loose lead. LADY AND ME had little chance to close into a two-speed exacta in her first start since the summer, especially after the slow break, but she stands to improve today if she can break with the field and she gets a better set up in terms of pace.

SEVENTH RACE

SHES DYNOMITE is wide but she has the speed to get position, which should mean she’s forwardly place from the start; she ran well over this course last year and though her best race at that meet was in her 2nd start off the layoff she has been working well toward her return, suggesting she’s ready for new trainer Kathleen O’Connell. ELUSIVE RYDER wasn’t close in any of her last four starts but those were all on the dirt, as three of them were moved from the turf; she won two races over this course last year and she stands to improve today with the switch back to the green. FUN PADDY has only one win in 13 tries on the grass but those races were largely against better than what she meets today; sharp win against lesser in her first start off the claim, a race out of which she was claimed.

EIGHTH RACE

PINSON did sit a nice trip behind a fast, contested pace in that last one, and while he was no match for fellow closer Indimaaj he was game to stave off the late running The Curt Fox for the place, and that was a fast race (88 winning Beyer, 9 the par); may not get as fast a pace today but he should get an honest tempo to chase. LIBERTARIAN ships in from Indiana Grand for his first start at Tampa and he lands in a seemingly good spot, as he should make his presence felt late; best Beyers put him in the mix, and he was in good form in his last couple of races, hitting the board in each of his last three. BOW AND ARROW cuts back to an elongated sprint and he is proven at this distance; behind the top pick in their recent meetings but those were longer races, and he seems better at one turn.

NINTH RACE

ZANDREA’S is the best guess in a puzzling finale.

She has some of the best Beyers in the field and the tactical speed to get position; may well be the most likely winner if she can take back off the pace and make one run. BIZ MAKER has a decent late kick when presented with the right race flow, and there does seem to be a fair amount of speed in this field; should be making up ground in the lane. WILD NORTH is easily forgiven for that last running line, as she clearly doesn’t care for racing on dirt; grass figures put her in the mix with these.
