BEST BET: RACE 5, INCLUDE THE BEAST

FIRST RACE

Lots of options, as always in this kind of category, to start the day. REY DE LIGAS back on short rest after promising turf bow when hanging in well for fourth after a very slow start. Gets favorable rider switch with Edgard getting the call. BIG PERM must be respected off big effort vs. same kind in local bow although Paco did run to CALL BROS today. the latter exits game effort last time, continues to hang around the edges with this kind.

SECOND RACE

MS BIG SPRING and SAY ADIOS appear the two most likely win candidates if not hooking up in some sort of suicidal early duel. Former back to the dirt, dropping to softest level yet. BLESSED BEAST should sit a second flight trip, might prove beneficiary if top two bury one another up front.

THIRD RACE

COBB in new hands while also dropping to cheapest level yet. Lures Irad. Shaky nod. SIDARTH in very dangerous hands off the claim. Lost all chance after striking gate, dropping far back last time, doing well to beat 8 of 11 rivals while also drifting some mid-stretch. Switches to more experienced pilot. Has the look of a real sleeper. MASTER OF DISASTER chased home in form winner two back, caught slop, got hung wide last time. Eligible to improvement with better racing luck.

FOURTH RACE

So many options so why not shoot for some real value. CONFUCIO a new gelding since showing brief speed, tiring badly debuting on dirt. Bred for the turf by Malibu Moon and a half to $291K grass earner Ice It. Dam won a G2 on sod. THE ZIP FACTOR another reportedly gelded since previous outing back in July at Monmouth Park. Had early trouble in both previous starts but breeding suggest turf his game by The Factor out of a City Zip mare. Main caveat the compromising post. HAPPY CHAMP a logical choice plunging to this level with a couple of previous turf races under belt vs. better in Kentucky. Is a half to a turf stakes winner.

FIFTH RACE

INCLUDE THE BEAST, the day’s best, a solid winner at first asking and working well for return. Held own with SW mate Big Thorn in most recent a.m. drill. SHE’S CLASSY back to level at which she registered maiden win and likely part of early mix along with Delaware invader TEXAS REWARD, a speedy sort who must prove she’s as good on dry land as slop.

SIXTH RACE

DILLON ROCKS makes second start off the Maker claim after being hard used, fading late last time at GPW. Expect to see this one sit back, make one run in a field full of early speed. PRETENDANT owns best last race Beyer of the bunch and the best closer in a race that figures to tie up late. CONFORTO the second for team Maker in this lineup returning to most suitable spot after being over-matched in two tries off the claim vs. N Y bred allowance company at Aqueduct. Has shown ability to pick up some pieces at the end.

SEVENTH RACE

DOLL COLLECTION lightly raced since the summer, caught killer in Cory Gal here in early September, the latter stepping up to beat strong group of allow. rivals with 98 Beyer off the race. Not facing that kind today. Can be along at her best. HALLA

WALLAH has changed barns, been freshened since catching one of the all time key race fields in CD finale with the 1st through 4th and 6th place finishers all coming back to win their next starts. Workiing well for local bow. GERRI B hoilding own with perhaps a notch tougher in all recent allow. tries in Kentucky with barn in good form at the present time.

EIGHTH RACE

GRAND JOURNEY one of many potential win threats depending on the trip in this spot. Has won this condition several times over the past 14 months and a six time winner over this course. GREYES CREEK got a break after posting back to back wins in Ky. mid-year, training as well as ever for his return.SCRAPS 9 times in the exacta in 15 starts locally, gets Paco up, should come running for at least a share at this level.

NINTH RACE

TRAIPSING continues to improve with every start. Ran stable mate and 9-5 favorite Mutamakina to a close decision in the 11 furlong Long Island, shortens up returning to scene of her N1X win last spring. Tough to catch with another forward move. GREAT ISLAND another who has progressed with every start. Gets class check here. GUN SOCIETY has really come a long ways in a short time, from a maiden winner in July to a Grade 1 placed filly when second best to Brown’s Etoile iin the E P Taylor. Must prove mettle outside of her native Canada today.

TENTH RACE

A super solid and full field in excellent renewal of the Mr Prospector. Of the 3 in here exiting Breeders’ Cup Sprint, LASTING LEGACY was most compromised by post and trip, losing tons of ground on the turn yet still beaten less than 7 lengths first off the claim for current connections. Returns to scene of career best Beyer effort when beaten a length by DIAMOND OOPS in this same race a year ago. Should offer some value in this spot. The latter returns to defend Mr. P title off a wide running effort of his own in the BC Sprint. Rarely runs a poor one. FIRENZE FIRE dropped further back than expected, came running up the rail to be third in Breeders’ Cup Sprint, figures much closer to early leaders today. Must prove he can handle the local surface at a relatively short price.

ELEVENTH RACE

The “all” button could be favorable option to those who can afford it in Rainbow 6 from the looks of this field with so many potential ways to go to close out the card. HE’SPUREGOLD ran well in debut behind talented Maker first-er Rick Manager and continues to work well over PM turf for second try. Kin to $600K grass earner Valedictorian. GIRL DAD continues to show improvement with experience, was second best behind Pletcher first-timer after taking lead at mid-stretch in N Y finale. Should sit a nice trip on or with pace from rail. AMERICAN TRYST beat half the field despite wide trip debuting over the surface. Expecting best yet here. Advanced Placement perhaps best bred of the bunch being kin to among others G1 winner Coffee Clique and graded stakes types Admission Office and Royal Fury.
